Following the release of a scathing House Ethics Committee report accusing Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.) of campaign finance violations, the freshman congressman said Friday that he expects to be expelled from the House.

“I know I’m going to get expelled when this expulsion resolution goes to the floor,” Santos said on X Spaces, formerly Twitter Spaces.

Santos has survived two expulsion attempts, but some members say they will vote differently next time.

About time the republicans policed their own ranks.

Your premise is all wrong. Look at Santos, and look at Donald Trump. As bad as Santos is, Donald is clearly worse. But the GOP in Congress keep protecting Donald, but they're growing weary of Santos.

The difference is: Donald can do more for them than Santos can do for them. They protected Santos to preserve their thin majority as best as possible. But that's just not enough at this point. They can get more out of Donald, so they take it up the ass more for him.

That's what Congress is about. It's not a question of how messed up you are. It's a question of what they can get out of you.
