Russian Airforce destroyed 2 HIMARS.

Wonderwaffe? They are just truck mounted rocket launchers. Cheap and disposable. Even the Incompetent Russians get lucky occasionally. I wonder how many aircraft the Russians lost killing TWO trucks?
The Ukrainians admitted their manpads are useless with Russian Jammer mounted helicopters now being introduced.

I don't see anything that is identifiable as HIMARS in that clip.

The first part shows a loitering munition hit the ground, but you can't see if hits a vehicle, and it wasn't much of an explosion, probably just the munition itself.

The second one shows an artillery shell landing in the trees, but there is no secondary explosion or black smoke from fuel and ammunition, so it could easily just be a big hole in the ground and nothing else.

The munitions used weren't air force either- they were army. Artillery and suicide drone.

0 for 3...

Jamming pods do not interfere with Inertial guidance systems or Laser guidance or IR (or IR+UV) guidance, which is all what MANPADS use- IR or Laser (and some like Stinger have the combination of IRS and terminal IR)

That's why the helos are dropping flares all the time dummy. Sometimes the flares work, sometimes they don't.

Flares won't fool a Stinger because the guidance computer won't let the seeker override the IRS mid-course. Whatever the aircraft was doing when the target was locked is what it is expected to keep doing. A flare looks like a sudden stop in mid-air to the missile, and it interprets that as a decoy. Stingers see in IR and UV. Flares can match a jet engine's IR SIG but the UV SIG is very different.

Thats what Russian helicopters have Active IR protection for. A little pod that can be retroactively fitted to aircraft looks for the IR and heat signatures of a missile that is tracking and then aims and fires a high powered IR laser at the missile. Russian Ka-52 got 5 of them mounted on each side, which enables them to intercept multiple ones. Thats one of many reasons why you hardly hear about ukraine downing any helicopters now.

You may not hear about them, that doesn't mean I don't.

The main reason for the reduction in shootdowns is the change of tactics. The Russians are trying to reduce the risk by operating their helos as close to their own lines as possible.

The KA-52's are firing their unguided missiles in parabolic "lob shots"- which are totally inaccurate, but they go a lot farther. They stay right down on the deck to avoid MANPADS, and then make a steep climb and fire their rockets at the top of the parabola. Then they release their flares and make a steep turn and back to the deck to run home.

They don't hit a damn doing this, they are just expending ammunition.

Here's a video of the standard routine. This is from the RU MOD.

Ka-52 Helicopters can target their targets from over 7 KM with their missiles, which is way farther than most manpads can target. Anything else will be airstriked by Russian jets, for which manpads are not suited for.

The fact that you hear less frequently about the results of Ukraines "Wunderwaffe" is because Russia adapts to them and changes tactics accordingly.

Lol. The reason they are lobbing unguided rockets is because when they hover to paint the target with the laser for an ATGM shot, they get shot down by Ukrainian ATGM's. One Stugna-P team has taken down 2 KA-52's, and they were at the exact came place!

There are at least 6 different MANPADS in use in Ukraine, of varying capability and ranges. MANPADS are not the only ADA in Ukraine, which is why the Russian jets stay on their side of the line.

BTW, all of the US inventory of Stinger are FIM-92 E/F models, published range 8km. We are not Russia- we understate performance (as you found out recently in Melitopol with HIMARS).

And for some reason, all the "Wunderwaffe" we hear about on this board come from you Ru trolls- whether it's your "Satan" missiles and Mach 27 nukes and super-duper submarines and torpedoes that can sink islands, and now KA-52's- one of the most frequently shot down helicopters in the world, lol.

Here's another Russian "Wunderwaffe". The Iskander-M.

4 of 4 launched from Belgorod in one night, FAILED...

You know why? I can tell you why...

Russia had its stumbles but unlike the US, Russia at least learns from its mistakes.
Its because of it that Russia won the continuation war against Finland, Nazi Germany and the second Chechen war.

Russian Ka-52 helicopters have now directional IRs installed, another factor contributing to the lack of frequency in downed aircraft. Ukraine also lacks systems to engage high altitude aircraft, so bombers and attack aircraft have not much problem operating in Ukraine.

Russia has been capturing countless manpads from Ukraine recently, so if Russia cant attack them from the air, artillery and ground forces do the trick and they have been very good at it.

Himars can be destroyed through airstrikes, as seen in the video, we might see more destroyed soon.
Russia already captured 2 Caesar howitzers to study.

Speaking of rockets.
The US just recently tried to launch an ICBM for testing and it failed. At least Russia can successfully launch a missile unlike the US.

At the end, these weapons will do little but slow the Russian advance and your weapons will either be destroyed or captured ,like those many manpads and ATGMs, im sure Iran and Syria will be happy to get these.

Take a look at Lysychansk and soon Seversk then and we will see who is talking nonsense. Or better yet, look at western Articles discussing the casualties of the Ukrainian forces and how their most skilled men, pilots and operators die in the Donbas.
