Roughly half (hopefully a little less) of the voters will vote for trump. Why?

What is his appeal?

For me, Donald Trump is like pornography — he has no socially redeeming value.

He’s a narcissistic, misogynist, bigoted, autocratic bully who is a congenital liar and dangerously detached from reality.

Yet almost half the country appears poised to vote for him.

Democrats certainly needn’t like Trump, but we damn well better understand why so many people do and not simply brand his supporters as “deplorables” like their candidate.

There's much more at the link but I actually disagree with a lot of it. I really don't think the trump voters are that deep.

IMHO it has more to do with the fact that everyone voting for trump is a closet submissive. They want to be dominated. They need someone to tell them what to do and when to do it. They are lost without a director of some sort. Fox and Breitbart and such have figured it out. You notice they don't provide information, they dispense directions. They tell the trump voters what their opinions are. It's why the Evangelicals are a natural fit. They've already been trained for decades to have no self will at all.

Quite frankly i've no confidence a corrupt and collusive governance can exist much longer

:desk:
Because none of the superfluous bullshit you come up with affects the masses. What does affect them is the inflation of the Biden/Harris horror that is cash strapping most Americans. We were better off economically with Trump running things. Bidenomics is a nightmare. That's reason #1.

#2 is the danger that Obama is hoping for our country. 4 more years of flying the very worst other countries have to offer into our quiet little towns is killing our quiet little towns.

#3 is the woke bullshit. The gay bullshit and the liberal agenda being shoved not only down our throats, but the throats of our children. Parents want their rights back.

#4 is a big one. Take 45% of the worth of your home. That's nearly half. That is what you are going to owe the government if they start taxing UNREALIZED CAPITAL GAINS.

There ya go...

Much of it is ignorance – and ignorance results in fear which leads to racism, bigotry, and hate; an unwarranted fear of immigrants, of people of color, of gay and transgender Americans, and of positive, beneficial change, inclusion, and diversity.

Trump is the reactionary agent of anti-change, of a white English speaking only America consistent with white grievance politics and racist replacement theory.

The rest is willful ignorance, blind partisanism, and a cultish devotion to Trump along with contempt for our democratic institutions, the rule of law, and the Constitution.

For example, Trump voters buy into the lie that Trump’s criminal convictions in New York State were motivated by ‘partisanism,’ we see the same lie applied to the current Federal charges against Trump.

Trump voters believe the lie that truthful, factual statements by other Republicans that Trump is a danger to democracy and unfit to be president are made up by ‘the media’ or ‘disloyal’ RINOs.

As to things Trump has said documented with videos and other recordings, we get the same lame, childish justification: “that’s not what Trump meant, Trump was just joking, you just don’t get Trump.” They foolishly don’t believe Trump will actually do much of what he says he’ll do – such as being a dictator or using the military to attack his political opponents.

And there are the ‘pragmatic’ Trump voters – voters who know that all of Trump’s crimes, corruption, and convictions are true, who know that Trump is a danger to democracy and unfit to be president, but are willing to take that risk so Republicans can control the WH, advance the Project 2025 agenda, and appoint more partisan conservative ideologues to the Federal courts, the Supreme Court in particular.

Whereas yours is simple stupidity and dishonesty.

Jesus Christ!!! Just take the damn time to go back and look at those things he accomplished while he was president, including his foreign policy. He can definitely be considered narcistic, egotistical and verbally abrasive. Put his personality aside. Despite all of the hate and vehement rhetoric against him while he was president, he did well. The idiots calling him the same as Hitler and a threat to Democracy are hate-filled provocateurs who want to lead us down the road to an authoritarian far-left nation where the public loses its freedoms as they continue to attack our Constitution and its Bill of Rights.

Really??? You're doing this crap??? I've said repeatedly that NEITHER CANDIDATE has earned my vote. In any case, find me a republican that believes the accusation you are repeating.
I didn't make the accusation.

What foreign policy? I'm guessing the first thing you'll say is Abraham Accords. Which will show your ignorance on the issue.
