In another arena, we have a quickly-deteriorating, septuagenarian Presidential candidate - someone who should be looking for the BEST QUALIFIED running mate ever conceived, and he has proclaimed in advance that he will employ tokenism as his primary selection factor. There is not a single person on the "list" who has anything near the desired qualification for a top executive position. None. Not one. One of the main candidates had a good part time job in the Georgia legislature and lost the most recent governor's race. Badly (in terms of form). And those are her "qualifications" (other than skin tone and general awfulness of appearance).

And no one is outraged.

So if professional football wants to do this, who gives a ****?

This is pretty outrageous. The Rooney rule is outrageous as well. Teams hire whom they believe give them the best chance to win. Roger Goode needs to go. There’s no other commissioner in pro sports that pulls this kind of shit. He should give up his job for a minority if he feels so strongly that minorities need to be represented in positions of power in the NFL. What a giant douche bag
