Interviewed Monday by Kennedy at Fox Business, Ron Paul challenged the contention that the United States government was acting in accord with good intentions in attacking Syria last week. Instead, Paul suggests a big motivation was generating profit for the military-industrial complex. Discussing the reason for the attack, the Ron Paul Institute Chairman and former presidential candidate concludes, “I think the only interest that has been involved here is to prop up the province of the military-industrial complex.”

Paul elaborates that the reason for the attack has “nothing to do” with concern about the Syria government’s purported use of chemical weapons to kill innocent people, given that the US has long been, and continues to be, in the practice of killing innocent people.

Paul also suggests in the interview that neoconservatives influence US actions in regard to Syria. Many people had hoped that President Donald Trump’s “America First” emphasis would cause a move away from military intervention against governments overseas. However,...

Ron Paul: US Attack On Syria Is To Prop Up The Military Industrial Complex...

Though causality and intent is always a very difficult thing to unequivocally establish, Paul's claim is unquestionably plausible.
As with most other government policy decisions, those carried out in the name of national security and defense have both financial and economic consequences that are both good and bad for a variety of parties over the long and short term.

Considering Trump and Paul, the former strikes me a far more of a short-term focus individual. Also, I find Paul to be a much keener analyst of the world in which we live, whereas I have yet to see Trump do or say anything that is particularly brilliant or insightful. The best I can say of Trump is that he's managed not to screw up the great advantages to which he was born. That's something, to be sure, but brilliance it is not.

Ron Paul: US Attack on Syria is to Prop Up the Military-Industrial Complex
The US missile attack on Syria was about sending warning messages to (1) North Korea, (2) Iran and (3) Syria, and notice to Russia and China that things have changed.

The Military-Industrial Complex requires no propping-up at present which the expenditure of 59 Tomahawks could resolve.

Munitions (including Tomahawks) cost money... but they're there to be used... to be fired-off when needed.

The cost of the launch is a flea in the overall scheme of things and the size of the DoD budget.

Already known to be a fringe-element 19th Century Isolationist, Paul's opinion here may be safely ignored.
