I don't know why the other thread was locked but Roma crime is organized and getting worse every year....It's nationwide too....Even here in Virginia.

Scores of them are "caught" on our northern border, for some reason they cross into Montana.

They fly into Canada from the EU and make their way across the border and turn themselves in where they are released into the country just like the ones that cross on our southern border.

Hopefully Homan stops the Roma in their tracks....They have proven themselves criminal by nature.

It's the Roma who are coming across the border to steal.....All are from Romania according to my BP contact.....At least he didn't know of any who did not come from there.....It's been going on since FJB opened the borders.....No vetting, just released.

Their crimes are all fun-n-games till they steal your children.....They hung one in my AO for that back in the 1920s, then loaded the rest on a train and sent them towards DC, then set the whole Roma (Gypsy) caravan on fire. The burnt remains can still be found behind a local eatery in town.

The point is not how long ago it happened, but that since it was a criminal vigilante event, it was never documented and now is too old to document. If it had been documented, only then would age not matter. Since it was not documented, then age certainly does matter.

Personally, I do not at all believe in anyone claiming in child abduction by a group, since there would be no point.
Children are a burden, not a profit.
The only people who abduct children are bereaved insane people who lost their own child.
There are tons of orphans waiting to be adopted.
Abduction makes no sense at all.

It's odd how I found out about it and it took some real digging!

I was relic hunting the area about 25 years ago (it was also the site of a Yankee supply depot), and came across the remains of the caravan.

At first I thought it was just Yankee wagons, but they did not look right as they were burned and had remnants of wood roofs. The items dug around it spoke to the post CW period.

I found lots of Yankee relics in the area so I never thought anymore about it (you don't talk about areas you dig in till you dig it out) till a few years later when my mom said something about gypsies not being welcome in town and a child stealing incident before she was born.

I called my grandmother who had lived just up the creek from the site her whole life and she told me all about it. I asked some other oldsters in town and they confirmed it.

She and her peers said Gypsies were escorted out of town/county by the SD when they came through after that and not allowed to stop.

The IRS link is obviously biased.
It said the main crime of this family was "laundering".
Which means they did not necessarily steal anything.
All they did was facilitate the movement of wealth to Romania.
And that really is not at all illegal or even suspicious.
The $32k in unemployment compensation likely was legitimate, but just being denied over some technicality.
It is not at all a large amount considering it was during covid.

I would put the IRS as being more criminal than the Roma.

You do not do that normally if there actually had been a crime, arrest, and trial.
And the US has a pretty bad history of lynching that is way worse than the petty thefts Roma are known for.
