Stimulus check update: $2,000 payments proposed by congressman

Representative Ro Khanna is proposing a stimulus check for many Americans from the tariff revenue.

He thinks we are all broke from paying tarrifs.

My idea: calculate how much we will save by not paying non-essential employees laid off during the shutdown then divide by number of taxpaying citizens and send us that amount.

In Virginia, eligible taxpayers can receive tax rebates of up to $200 for individuals and $400 for joint filers. To qualify, taxpayers must have incurred tax liability in 2024 and file their returns by November 3, 2025.
