My favorite story about LaRouche is this.

Senator Barry Goldwater supported some piece of legislation that LaRouche disagreed with. In true LaRouche fashion, his supporters attacked Goldwater in the media, leading Goldwater to exclaim (I'm paraphrasing here), "Those LaRuche people are so far to the right, the believe that I'm a liberal."

I can imagine Johnny Carson up there commenting that LaRouche's plans for the 2020 presidential candidacy remain unaffected.
