I don't even begin to understand McConnell's reasoning. You have to understand Congress perfectly to even understand .. what you wrote here and I don't have a degree in how Congress works.

The fact is that election integrity is just fine. There is absolutely no evidence that illegals are voting. No one believes lying weasels like Abbott in Texas. McConnell is trying to save the Republican Party from itself. He knows that shutting down the government over a non-issue will be political suicide for Republicans in November.
