After a brief chase, law-enforcement officials found Kelley's vehicle on the side of the road in neighboring Guadalupe County. Kelley was found dead in the vehicle from a gunshot wound. Authorities said they did not know if Kelley had committed suicide or had been wounded by the resident who followed him.

Reading comprehension challenged much? I said stopped, not shot. The legal gun owner engaged with the shooter, who then took off in his car. That distraction most likely prevented the shooter from murdering more people.

Eye witness reports have confirmed this, including one from the driver who picked up the legal gun owner to chase the shooter.

When discussing guns, stopped means killed.
