He was wrong. Knee kicks dont work like they do in the movies. You are more likely to be struck by lightning than you are to down someone with a knee kick. Go watch a few thousand MMA fights and youll see what im talking about. It NEVER works.little Bruce Lee said the biggest guy will crumble with a well placed kick to the knee....
If youre going to kick someone legs, go for the lower part of the calf. There is a nerve that runs down the leg that shuts your foot down if you get kicked there. Boxers and street fighters always stand with their lead leg way out in front, making them extremely prone to this kind of attack. MMA fighters are trained to stand more "squared" in order to avoid leg kicks and single leg take downs.
