This is one the more deplorable manifestations of the reprehensible right, that many conservatives are attempting to misappropriate the murders to advance their own bizarre political agenda, and use the tragedy to propagate the lie that this was an attack on Christianity, when in fact it was an attack motivated solely by racism, having nothing whatsoever to do with the ridiculous and inane rightwing myth of a 'war on Christians.'

By the way, my intent here is not really so much to stick up for this guy as much as it is to simply point out the idiocy that anyone would think he actually meant what he said.
Now if someone wants to start a thread that Perry tripped over his mouth and stuck his foot in, ala Joe Biden, then fine, I'm on board.
But the OP, some members here, and some of the media want to make you believe that Perry honestly believes this event was an "accident".
