I've listened to Ric when he was interviewed by German media many months ago, long before even Harris was the nominee. He was sharp as a tack and straight to the point, making clear, concise arguments about the need for Germany and others to start waking up to reality, funding their militaries etc. Advised them that Trump would be demanding more of them and other allies if he is re-elected.
Been interested in seeing what possible position if any he might have in the Trump administration. He reminds me of the type of person who engulfs himself in the details of an issue so that he understands it immaculately. Appears Trump thinks very highly of him as well as he was apparently considering him for SOS at some point.

Currently, there is no special envoy responsible for bringing an end to the war in Eastern Europe. Trump is strongly considering whether to create the role, Reuters reported, citing four sources familiar with the president's deliberations.
If he does create the new position, Grenell is said to be a leading candidate, though Trump may select someone else, the sources told Reuters. There is also no guarantee that Grenell would accept the position if it were offered to him, the sources reportedly said.
