RFK Jr Wants To Ban Pharmaceutical Ads On TV

I'm not sure that magazines would ever be included.

Though I haven't bought a physical magazine in years, IIRC, that is the one media where beer and hard alcohol ads are still allowed. . . though, not tobacco products.

We shall see.
.

Yeah, I don't like seeing alcohol ads either. They sell enough without having to advertise.

.

Those advertisements only add to the price of a prescription

Only doctors can write prescriptions
There is no reason to market to patients
They aren't allowed in Europe.

Can you image the parental outrage if these states that have legal dope, started advertising on T.V.?
.

That would drive me a little nuts. Even though I believe that my dying husband benefited a great deal from the use of medical cannabis, I really believe that there is no justification for advertising it. When we went to get him qualified for MMJ, it was a joke. Five people in an office at one time, with a doctor spending a minute or two asking each one about their symptoms, and then five certifications granted!

The billboards for cannabis (or anything else, IMO) really need to go away. Seems like they're on every street corner in Spokane. Hard to explain to a youngster what a psychedelic billboard advertising "Access Cannabis" is all about.

Beer, but I don't think hard alcohol is allowed.
huh. Things must of changed recently. 🤔

I completely support this. The American public gets enough pHARMa crammed down their throats without being indoctrinated by their TV's to walk into the "doctor's" office and demand the drug they want because they thought the ad was full of well-dressed, smiling people who were ostensibly "cured".

GO BOBBY!

Absolutely. These ads are just plain stupid. They get people suffering from medical conditions to go to their doctors and ask for new drugs. Totally amazing how they can list all of these really bad side effects, including death, of these drugs on tv and then encourage you to go to your doctor and ask them if this drug is right for you. Well, yeah, did you hear about the part you could die? So, I agree with Bernie on one thing.

"Ask your doctor if ....................... is right for you!'

It's just the beginning of the acceptance of social reform.

The door is left open and they're getting in your house and then into your bedroom and under your bed!

Weren't we talking about socialist reform yesterday too?

IF we can ban pharma from running ads why can't we ban Bobby's idiot drug addled son lying about vaccines?

Yep.....Hey, maybe this will bring both sides together and start agreeing on something!

I bet Big Pharma would hate to see an up or down poll on the issue.

Alas, so would the television networks, where pharma advertising occupies the same space cigarette advertising used to.

Holy shit. Both sides agreeing on something. Everyone should just take the rest of the day off now to celebrate!
And all it took was mention of the biggest ripoff of the working class in America today.

Now it needs a good strong argument to say that it's not Social reform or Socialism!
