If true, what does that say about D voters? He is a traditional Democrat as was common in that party several decades back. Much like his uncle and father, who were beloved by the vast majority of D voters, back then.

What’s happened is the D Party has moved to the right. It no longer supports the working class, unions, strong middle class, anti-war, etc. It now supports non-stop war, Wall Street, income inequality, etc.

It’s become R Party Lite and you slavish support this.

The fact that RFKjr is a conspiracy theory nut might have something to do with it too. You can always run him on the MAGA ticket if you like him so much.

While the Dems are just thinking about doing it in 2 states - Iowa and NH.

Trump won in 2016. And he was HEAVILY not the pre-approved candidate.
Trump may very well be the RNC candidate again, but he is still not the RNC's choice , having said that, the RNC is so disjointed by the Trump effect - they really don't even have a chosen candidate for President. Trump doesn't need the RNC.
So that flies in the face of what you are saying.
The Republican voters still have the power to choose a President despite the party shenanigans.
The Democrat voters lost that power almost completely. The chances of a "runaway candidate" like Trump to exist in the DNC is virtually impossible.

I remember Max Baccus, who was a Senator in Montana, used to walk on foot all over the state to get votes.
