No, the fools are the ones pushing some big conspiracy that Tillerson is a Russian lackey even when Obama's appointed ethics chief Shaub stated his divestiture from Exxon/Mobil was a "sterling model" for other nominees. Ignoring that under Obama's administration deals were made benefiting Russia, and we still continued to import crude oil from Russia. The same admin. that declared they could make a better deal for Russia when Obama was elected and offered them the reset button; the same administration that allowed Russia to take over Crimea. Russia consistently flaunted international norms under Obama without consequence.-

But the relationship between our peoples goes back much further. This year, we celebrated the 65th anniversary of the end of World War II, and it was the joint Allied forces that defeated fascism. Today, our two nations continue in our strong partnership, mutual respect, and friendship, and I am proud of the new START Treaty and our joint efforts to reduce our nuclear arsenals. Beyond that, our two nations continue to expand our commercial and economic ties. Here in America, many Americans can trace their origins to Russia, and all of them are an important part of our national identity.

The exchange has its roots in a “hot mic” incident in March 2012, during which Obama and then Russian President Dmitry Medvedev were caught exchanging words during a summit in South Korea.
“On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this, this can be solved, but it’s important for him to give me space,” Obama told Medvedev, referring to incoming Russian president Vladimir Putin.
“Yeah, I understand,” Medvedev said.
“This is my last election. After my election, I have more flexibility,” Obama added.
“I understand,” Medvedev replied. “I will transmit this information to Vladimir.”

An important step in this direction is Russia’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), which has become possible thanks to our joint efforts. In order for WTO rules and mechanisms to apply to our bilateral trade, the Obama Administration is working closely with the U.S. Congress to terminate, as soon as possible, application of the Jackson-Vanik Amendment with respect to Russia and extend Permanent Normal Trade Relations to the Russian Federation.
