Location
Midwest - Trumplandia
There are a couple interesting takeaways: The rent on their place is $750 a month with an ocean view, and as a requirement you have to pay for private medical insurance, which costs them less than Medicare. Unbelievable. Same couple has a rental home in California, which they needed to "qualify" for a Visa. Considering they are both living on Social Security, it probably was not enough income for them to have a Visa.

That's a big step to make...

Yea, but the location is one of the best in the world, as far as climate. A Mediterranean climate is probably the best anywhere.

Clean and safe and affordable, but also looks pretty boring.
I would do it but I'm single... I would miss my kids and grandkids though... I have a pension and soon will have social security and I have rental property... I could live like a king there...
hmmmmmmm

With your situation you could probably live like a king in much of the world. It's not prohibitively expensive to pay for private healthcare somewhere else in the world, this is a completely foreign concept to an American.

So is Malta part of Italy?...

Nope, independent country.

Used to belong to us. (UK) They still have the red post boxes there.

Replicas of the movie Maltese Falcon are made there. They had it rough because of their location in WW2. Pretty scenery though and laid-back living.
