When someone on a thread complains about your post, and the mod decides to ban you from the thread, shouldn’t the mod have to let you KNOW and say what rule you violated?

As it stands now, I can be participating on a thread, only to discover when I try to reply that I’ve been banned from it. No notice. No explanation.

You haven't lived until you've been banned from a thread you yourself started. :laughing0301:

I think the system accumulates the points, so an infraction can tip you into a ban because of the points against you. So a mod can let you know the final nail in the coffin that tipped you into a timeout. Other than that, it would have to have been a serious incident for someone to go direct to a ban. Imo.

Nothing of value will be lost.

I get a notification by DM every time I get infracted. But, politics aside, people tend to like me.

If you don't want to be thread banned, and this goes for every forum member, follow the rules. It's that simple.

Some of the biggest reasons people get banned from threads are:
  • Flaming only replies
  • Disrupting the thread by trying to change the topic / off topic comments

But sometimes it’s not clear as to why someone is banned, and there’s no notice or explanation. Other times, posters are just horrific - making disgusting bigoted remarks in a Zone 1 thread - and they are not banned. I also see terrible flaming all the time.

If we were to be told why we are banned from a thread, we could see how rules are applied equally, or not.

What? Is that true? NOW it’s starting to make sense. It was so weird that all of a sudden the racism forum disappeared in order to protect blacks from any possible criticism while the antisemites descended en masse and have been allowed to spew their venom.

That would make it tough when the troll brigade teams up against somebody. If it is based only on reports by that group, anybody could be thread banned or banned outright without violating any rule of the board.

They aren't. Since when are marxist liberals "fair" and "balanced" :laughing0301:
