Republicans up the ante - submit bills to keep SNAP funded

At this point it looks like Democrats are determined to shoot themselves in the foot, with a bazooka.
Will Democrats go on record as voting against the poor?

Grocery stores will get looted if there are no food stamps.

Not just grocery stores. The EBT crowd is always looking for a reason to loot and act like wild animals, good reasons like George Floyd. Apple stores, expensive handbag stores, Nike stores, electronics stores, and probably car dealerships too. My advice to the GOP: Get far ahead on the narrative so the democraps can't blame this on Trump. This is their Frankenstein, they have to deal with the consequences.

Thune needs to go nuclear, pass the CR, pass the Appropriations Bills, pass the ACA with "pay-fors", and get on with governing.

If not the Republicans aren't worth voting for.

Just as reminder Thune doesn't get to decide all alone to go nuclear. He has to put it to a vote on the floor.

I will guarentee you the Majority Whip (the person responsibile for "whipping" up votes and ensuring Senators are present for important votes) is keeping a nose count on the issue of "going nuclear". The Whip's job is to track such things within the Senators and he's been advising Thune on where the issue stands.

Thune will stay far away from the "nuclear option" until such time as the Majority Whip can assure him they have the votes in advance. The last thing Thune would want is to lose face by bringing a rule change to the floor and have it defeated.

Totally agree. I saw LA senator Kennedy, and a GOP Woman senator say they would not vote for the nuclear option .
That said, sooner or later Republicans need to realize that they are the majority and blaming democrats when they have the power to end the shutdown will cost them votes. Republicans should also extend the ACA subsidy with "pay-fors".
It would be easy to need 51 votes for CRs, Appropriations, and Rescissions. There would never be another shutdown.

BLS is not the messenger, they are the random number generator.
First Biden created a million jobs, then it kept getting revised downward to 22,000 jobs created.

Total nonsense. BLS needs to be fired.
BLS has always been the messenger.

You’re still stuck on killing the messenger.

BLS is not a "messenger", it is an incompetent government agency that needs to be eliminated, and replaced with more advanced and competent private companies, possibly verified by collegiate experts in economics. Not just a generally wrong "single source". Similar to the "spaghetti plots" for hurricanes. Then the Fed's economists could evaluate from several sources to determine who is more accurate.

Johnson is holding the House closed so good luck getting the vote on that.
The House of Representatives already voted in favor of the bill to keep the social programs funded.
