I understand the reasoning, no one wants the SNAP crowd to start stealing, looting and rioting, but there are way too many who are not on SNAP temporarily to get through a tough time, they are living off the government without ever working a day. We have to draw a line somewhere and encourage people to become productive members of society.

Maybe it is time to end all federal government programs and pass the responsibility to the states. DC has to be the exemption. We need to reduce the power and reach of the federal government and empower the states to take care of their constituents. Plus, states will then be encouraged to be competitive with other states for the best constituents and will be encouraged to not become shitholes. The federal government should only take care of needs that encompass multiple states that can't resolve the problems between themselves, like defense.

In Virginia we spend 221 million a month on SNAP/EBT....We have around a 6 Billion fund and I hope not a nickel is spent towards it.
