Round two of another fiscal crisis is already underway as debate over raising the nation's borrowing limit, better known as the debt ceiling, heats up.

Majority leader Harry Reid has blatantly ignored the law by failing to introduce a budget for more than 1300 days.

House Republicans on the other hand have fullfilled their duty to the law by introducing and passing a budget every year since Obama has been in office.
As Byron York points out, Reid's actions could give Republicans some leverage when it comes to satisfy Presindent Obama's request to increased borrowing (and spending) ability.

I want to stress again that Reid has been ignoring the law by refusing to not only pass a budget in the Senate, but by failing to even introduce one.

Just think about how that ****** woudl have been in Romney had won..

So the hostage takers have made their demands? Did the Republicans cut out all the letters from the magazines themselves for this message to Reid?

Hey GOP, you aren't doing yourselves ANY favors...

But watch, it will be reported in most of the media that expecting a budget after 4yrs without one is unreasonable, and the country will default!!!

Poor America, lord help us all.

So as long as you win the opinion polls, you can screw America, not do your job and not pass a budget, as the Senate has not done in four years.

Interesting stance.

The last GOP President to balance a budget was Nixon. Get over yourselves and the ******* budget. Holding the full faith and credit of the US hostage isn't some ******* game.

It's not a game, but right off the bat, you bring out poll numbers.

Sounds like a hypocrite to me, want to try again?

Isn't she a pisser...get over the budget?

On a side note...just imagine if we were talking about GWB?

But back to the lunatic who suddenly and only because we have none...thinks budgets are unecessary.

There was an article just yesterday that this was the tactic they were going to seize upon next and hence...here we have it. :clap2:

Well.. they do believe in tyranny of the masses.. well, only when it leads to their chosen outcome.. they will scream bloody murder if it does not go their way and then scream for the outcome from government because of a 'civil right' or 'fairness' or whatever else they can come up with

When the president was willing to let the Bush tax rates expire for all Americans if he didn't get a tax increase on the top 2% was he being a hostage taker?

Nobody said anything about a balanced budget. They simply asked for a budget, period.

And the fact that you're lashing out over this shows that you know you're on the wrong side of the issue and can't defend it.

Budgets are subject to the Constitution, and that says the House is responsible, so attacking Reed on this is a non-starter.

However. . . I think the Senate should take one of the House's suggested budgets, use it as a model, and modify it as they think reasonable. Cutting Defense is reasonable.
