Republicans Can't Stomach A Taste Of Their Own Map Rigging Medicine

There are absolutely gerrymandered Dem states but the vast majority of the serious offenders are red states.

ZERO repubs in 7 blue states but repubs are the biggest offenders?

That makes no sense at all

House Speaker Mike Johnson—who supported the Texas redraw that could boot as many as five Democratic House members—said California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s planned redraw is "a slap in the face to Californians who overwhelmingly support the California Citizens Redistricting Commission."

“The NRCC is prepared to fight this illegal power grab in the courts and at the ballot box to stop Newsom in his tracks,” National Republican Congressional Committee Chair Richard Hudson said in a statement, accusing Newsom of “disenfranchising voters to prop up his Presidential ambitions.”

These blatant power grabs have got to stop.
Given that Democrats have been gerrymandering for a century or more...

Given that Democrats have maps within Blue States like Illinois that are obviously "rigged" to add Democratic seats...

I'd say that the Republicans are merely giving DEMOCRATS a taste of their own map-rigging medicine...

Hell... most of the larger Blue States are so "rigged" already that map-revisers will have difficulty in gaining much more...

For example... look at the Illinois 13th... connecting East St. Louis and Springfield (mid-state)...

Ensuring that Republican -controlled Springfield, IL is overpowered by Democrat -controlled East St. Louis and environs to the southwest coupled with Decatur and Champaign (liberal college-town) to the far northeast... a ridiculous drawing...

And it gets a lot worse in northeastern Illinois where Democrat -controlled cities and burbs are connected in jigsaw-puzzle fashion to bypass or isolate or overwhelm Republican -controlled burbs and towns and counties...

Illinois has some of the most corrupt Democrat-Party -spawned gerrymandering in the country...

Dems have already gerrymandered the biggest blue states to the max ! the left is complaining because Republicans are now starting to play the same game ! if the left wants a redistricting war they'll lose big-time !
Is that the bullshit you magatards are pushing now?

You're losing.

The special session called by Texas governor Abbott, was never about map rigging. It was solely to respond to the flash flooding in July that killed over 100 people.

Trump made it all about him, and called Abbott to demand the session be about map rigging, because in his own words, "I'm entitled to five more seats".

This isn't about Texas Republicans defeating Democrats. It's about protecting Trump from accountability if Democrats win back the House, not to mention shutting down the last two years of his Presidency.

What could be a twist of irony, is by Texas rigging the map as a blatant power grab in a mid census period, will have the bill challenged in court, whereas California will be putting their redistricting plan on the ballot for their citizens to vote on.

Texas could lose their battle in court, where California would be completely legal as a ballot referendum being passed by the voters. Another twist of fate for Texas is, even if they win in court, they will be creating swing districts, that could cost incumbent Republicans their seats.

Are you suggesting Republican haven't been??? Seriously?

Again - you really think Red States aren't rigged in similar fashion.

Yes. Dems **** up their states with gerrymandering, so Republicans should do it to. Go team!

Which states are you referring to? In a state with 2-3 representatives, it’s perfectly reasonable that they would all be from one party.

Nope...

But are you suggesting that the Chicago Democratic Machine or the New York City Democratic Machine aren't the Gold Standard when it comes to gerrymandering?

Again - you really think Red States aren't rigged in similar fashion.
Any gerrymandering done by Republicans pales in comparison to the Democrats... the All-Time Champs of Gerrymandering.

Nope... two Wrongs do NOT make a Right... but after being victimized far more often in this context... I understand it...

Uh... maybe because California is mostly Democrats and he knows they'll vote for it because they have no principles?
Are we supposed to take that seriously? What about Texas? Where are their principles?

Eventually no money will be sent to states due to political allegiances. Like Jope did to the poor people in North Carolina. And they have prog Socialist Communist governors.

Well, I provided a link showing otherwise. It's a game both parties play, enthusiastically. Can you point me to data showing something different?

That would be great. The federal government shouldn't be in the business of sending states money.

Unfortunately, that's not how it would pan out. The parties will continue to take care of their own.

Is "they do it too" the only excuse partisans know?
