Raising the minimum wage to $15 isn't a large hike? Show your math..
Jobs are
already outsourced at the current prevailing wage (and have been for decades). So according to your shit argument, we're already at the point where we need to reduce wages and the standard of living in order for American workers to be competitive with Third World workers, simply because jobs have already been outsourced.
That's your argument, whether you realize it or not.
American workers are VERY productive. Despite liberal attacks on business.
Productivity isn't what we're talking about. We're talking about
wage competition. That's where the competition between American and Third World workers is...wages. American workers are not competitive with Chinese workers because Chinese workers are willing to work for much lower wages.
So by virtue of the fact that outsourcing already happens, and has happened, when you say that American workers have to be more competitive, what you're saying is that American workers must accept a lower standard of living and a lower wage. That's how they can compete with Third World workers.
I think you recognize and know this point already, but are just arguing for the sake of your trollish habits.
Outsourcing occurs for many reasons, only one of which is wages.
That's not what you were arguing earlier in this very thread! You were previously arguing that a "wage hike" will result in outsourcing of jobs. I call bullshit on that because outsourcing of jobs has already been happening at wages lower than what we have now. So your argument is a complete and total load of horseshit.
