Their bill would relocate most federal agencies from DC to more rural parts of the country. It is intended to bring government jobs outside of the Washington area.

Evidently, Sens Hawley and Blackburn have discarded the GOP’s lip-service to small government and instead just want to use the government to benefit red states — in particular, their own.

Moving these agencies outside of the DC beltway would have the side effect of reducing their numbers significantly if the reaction to the move of the ERS and NIFA to KC is any indication.

We could dump most of out federal agencies altogether and get along just fine.

Many areas in the United States have fallen into economic distress.
(they admit it)

Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, 20 Tennessee, and West Virginia are among the States with regions that have experienced substantial eco-22 nomic distress during the past 10 years.
(the two people who wrote the bill live in TN and MO, self interest, and all of the states are republican with 1 Democratic state of NM, except for 2 swing states, and Moscow Mitch is Kentucky.)

People will quit before they move.

I think that's the idea.

Two things:

It would still have to be reconciled in the House. Good luck with that one sunshine.

And I thought you told us the economy was the best in the whole universe with 100 trillion jobs?

So which is it?
