Republican Bid to Help Trump Move Past Epstein Falls Flat

When House Republican leaders rushed to leave Washington for a long August break, they seemed desperate to quell the anger among their supporters about the Trump administration’s backtracking on a promise to release files related to its investigation of the accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

But halfway through a five-week congressional recess, the clamor shows little sign of quieting. While Republicans had hoped that legal rulings might insulate them from having to confront the issue, the courts have yet to intervene. Back in their districts, lawmakers have continued to face questions about the Epstein investigation from their constituents. And the Justice Department, which ignored a Friday deadline from Senate Democrats and is set to miss another on Tuesday to comply with a bipartisan subpoena to provide the materials to Congress, has yet to release anything.

On Monday, Representative James R. Comer of Kentucky, the Republican chairman of the House Oversight Committee, said that the Justice Department would begin sharing its Epstein records with his panel by Friday. He also suggested that the release of the documents would take some time, all but ensuring that questions about the Epstein affair will drag on for weeks.

At the same time, Democrats, in some cases with the help of Republicans, have laid a series of procedural traps that will make it all but impossible for the G.O.P. to avoid confronting the issue again when Congress reconvenes in September.

Activating the D.C.N.G. on the pretense of threats against government officials rings hollow. Crime down in D.C.,
just it is down in Oakland and Black led cities. Not even the failed talks with Putin over Ukraine is able divert attetntion away from Epstein. It is the Albatross around Trump's neck.
Epstein who?

I don't know. Neither do you but you're trying to make something out of it.

I was figuring with the condemning of half the country as deplorables and dregs and the obvious hatred towards Christians that Joe or Nancy or Chuck would have told us who was on the files. Anyway, next week South Park will do an episode destroying the Gaza Islamic extremists who killed thousands. And they will mock Mohammed to the worse. It's time to do streaming comedy on those and their families who mock, smear and diminish people with 95% of the entertainment business on the same side.

because you don't care to see donny be amongst the guilty.

Unfortunately for you I'm not a partisan hack like you. If Trump was involved then crucify him.

Now stop thinking you're having a gotcha moment and stop annoying me

if slick willy is guilty - then nail him & ever other vile creature to the wall.

can you say the same about donny?
You have a photo of him getting a rub down from one of Epstein’s sex slaves or is this just more projection?

They call themselves patriots. Yet anyone who dares to speak out their leader, we become "Un-American". A single minded devotion to just one man and disagreeing that man gets you called "Commie'.

They're just words.

I, for one, don't give that sort of low value Mickey Mousery any amount of credence.

And I care very little about Trump.

I find that most Internet pundits are generally going to just regurgitate the approved talking points as a matter of what they surmise to be some kind of activism. And that the approved talking points are generally what dominates the discussion. The politicized smut, so to speak. They don't call cable news entertainment ''programming' for nothing, you know. That is indeed precisely what it is. And the programming is what defines the terms of controversy once the drones have been programmed and turned loose to do the rest of the leg work. I've no interest in that brand of low value bumblefuckery, nor do I have any interest in the juvenile pecker waving contest that comes with it in places like this.

My issue is with the likelihood that foreign agents of a foreign nation have been and are still running a coup on our government by way of these honeytrap operations aimed at congress and other governmental appointees.

It is not a matter that should be so casually trivialized and omitted from any dialogue pertaining to the terms of controversy in the way that it is now and has been. In fact, it should be paramount to the ''topic.''

Let's be honest here, O311...crime isn't REALLY down in Washington DC...it's just gotten so bad that citizens don't even bother to call the Police! Why would they when a liberal DA would just put criminals right back on the streets? The people that live or work in DC know better. There is posturing from the left because they don't want anything Trump is involved in to succeed and they sure as hell don't want this to work in DC because then citizens in cities like NYC, Chicago and LA are going to be asking why THEY can't get Federal help as well!

The left's attempt to make Epstein's file news amuses me. Like Joe Biden's DOJ wouldn't have leaked that two years ago? Use your heads, Kiddies. You're chasing shiny objects again.

It is the DEMOCRATS who are more afraid of what the Grand Jury records might reveal.
The grand jury, is simply probable cause evidence presented to the grand jury to get them to indict Jeffrey Epstein for his probable crimes.

That's it....

No other evidence or investigation material on others, or other evidence on Epstein is given to a grand jury.....

THAT is all the stuff in the EPSTEIN FILES that are being held back by DOJ.

Can you tell me why YOU seem to think the Grand jury testimony used to indict Epstein for the crimes he was openly charged with, is going to tell us anything at all, about others who may have participated, or are being blackmailed, or are in an Intel Agency abroad, or who killed Epstein and why, if he had not committed suicide?

Why are YOU letting yourself play the pawn or scapegoat or strawman or fool for them jwoodie?

...and now its 100% on Congress to figure it out. Its out of Trumps hands and directly in YOUR favorite democrat politicians hands to solve it, but they wont solve shit because, theres nothing in there that they could get charges on, let alone convictions.

Its all on the dems now. I imagine that youll have the exact same result as the 4 years you all ignored this story. Have fun with that. :dunno:

The NYT was awarded a Pulitzer for a poorly researched anti-Trump rant about "Russian collusion". So far the Times hasn't apologized or offered to return the Pulitzer. The only thing that is flat is the NYT circulation.
