Reports are coming from Maricopa County, Arizona that Dominion voting machines are malfunctioning county-wide as a result of the CrowdStrike outage.

“The vote center equipment is connected via a network to facilitate voter check in and cast their ballots,” Borunda said.

Not the internet.

LOL
Let me explain to your clueless ass exactly how this works.

You walk into a polling place. With or without a sample ballot, doesn't matter.

The worker looks you up in the voter rolls, WHICH REQUIRES AN INTERNET CONNECTION.

The worker then asks you if you still want to vote the way you were registered. You don't have to say yes. You can vote Dem even if you were registered as a Reoublican.

The worker then updates your choice into the voter rolls, WHICH ALSO REQUIRES AN INTERNET CONNECTION.

The worker then PRINTS OUT YOUR BALLOT ACCORDING TO THE CHOICE YOU MADE, WHICH ALSO REQUIRES AN INTERNET CONNECTION.

The ballot has a bar code on it, that uniquely identifies you in the voter roll database.

You then take the ballot the worker just printed out for you, and insert it into the voting machine. The voting machine itself does NOT have an internet connection. It simply reads the bar code and presents you with the appropriate choices on the screen.

Once you've voted, your votes are PRINTED on the ballot by the voting machine. Once the printing has occurred, you can no longer touch or handle the ballot. It is deposited directly BY the voting machine into a sealed box secured by a coded zip tie. All such boxes are then emptied at the end of the voting cycle.

You are ALLOWED to cast a sample ballot directly, but very few people do, and ALL such ballots are considered provisional and verified by hand on the back end. If you cast a ballot this way, you are given a coded receipt, and you are given a phone number you can call to determine whether your vote was actually counted.

THAT is how it works, clueless libtard.

No it doesn't. Because of the size of Maricopa County, they use ballot printing on demand. You check in, identify yourself and the precinct for which you need a ballot and it gets printed on demand based on address. This is done because of the size of Maricopa County and since you can vote anywhere in the county but may need different slates of electors for House, State Races and Local Races.

The bar code does not identify you as an individual, it identifies the slate of electors that appear on the ballot. This bar code is needed so that the tabulator can identify what candidates correspond which hand marked location on the ballot.

We have secret ballots in this country and it would be illegal to code a ballot being cast specifically to you as an individual.

Arizona law shown below.

This is also incorrect. The ballot selections are not printed on the ballot, they are hand marked by the voter (for the vast majority of voters). The hand marked ballot is inserted, it is not machine marked.

There are special stations for voters with disabilities that would have difficulty dealing with traditional hand marked ballots. These stations are designed for those with visual and physical disabilities that make using traditional ballots difficult. At these stations the voter uses a computer system to generate a ballot that is then printed. The printed ballot is the same ballot as the hand marked ballot and can be reviewed by the voter. It is than taken by the voter to a tabulation machine, inserted and counted just like all other ballots.

You may have accidently confused accommodations for disabled persons with those used by non-disabled persons.

What difference does it make if updates are being pushed to them from machines that are on the Internet?

you're terribly wrong -- again.

The conspiracies surrounding those machines are MAGA-meat.

All I am saying is that these machines are in any way connected to other machines that have Internet access then it is disingenuous to say that they are not connected to the Internet. This is the exact purpose of firewalls.

With regard to conspiracies, do you mean like the voter disenfranchisement narrative pushed by the left when any move is made that would further secure our election process? To borrow from the left’s rhetoric, there is no evidence that requiring id would lead to mass voter disenfranchisement.

It has nothing to do with the voting machines.

Some people don't under stand the difference between:
  • Electronic Voting Machines (mostly used for disabled persons)
  • Tabulators (which optically scan hand marked paper ballots - vast majority of method for casting votes)
  • And Election System providing interconnectivity between the precincts, area voting centers, and state offices.

You are all over the place.

I wonder what the dead Venezuelan dictator says about this? Maybe we can ask Trump's people who have been taken to court over this type of conspiracy shit?
