Democratic House Representative David Cicilline of Rhode Island is apparently ignorant enough to believe stabilizing braces turn AR pistols into automatic weapons. Of course, anyone with a lick of common sense knows stabilizing braces were invented to enable disabled veterans in particular to shoot AR pistols, and absolutely do not change AR pistol rate of fire. In fact, the ATF has for years forced AR pistol owners to use stabilizing braces rather than actual AR stocks on AR pistols. If one runs an AR stock on an AR pistol it becomes a Short Barreled Rifle or SBR and requires a tax stamp to own. Cicilline is the poster child for firearm ignorance, willful or otherwise. His brand of blowhard ignorance is why many Americans fear guns.

Therein lies a key issue. Before composing or voting on new gun law our legislators should be escorted to a shooting range and there instructed on the form and function of firearms they wish to restrict or ban.

If they have no intention to tell you the truth about anything, does it really matter what lie they are telling you?

If you know what they are saying is a lie ... You've probably been shooting before and it's your firearms they are trying to ban.
Otherwise ... They are just trying to leverage the opinions and emotions of other ignorant fools that don't have a clue what they are talking about.

I agree. However, I also believe that the more Americans who see their elected leaders overtly lying to them the better the chances the masses will decide (eventually, sometime) to do something about it.

I applaud your optimism ...

It's an irreconcilable difference in my opinion.
That's why the People on the side that wants to ban the firearms don't understand why People on the other side would object.

If the masses ever recognize the folly of their efforts, I fear it will be too late for us all.
