Suppressors are great for improving accuracy in close....and it makes it better for home defense....cuz shooting your weapon without hearing protection won't make you lose your hearing. It shouldn't need to be in a bill. We have the right to own guns but it's another thing that will sink the bill. It has nothing to do with the budget.

There are very few suppressors which provide hearing safe levels of protection - some maybe wet or using a wipe - certainly not any caliber of consequence or a round which has been downloaded or over-grained to reach subsonic velocities.Suppressors are great for improving accuracy in close....and it makes it better for home defense....cuz shooting your weapon without hearing protection won't make you lose your hearing.
It's a safety issue after all. No PPE needed.
Sorry, but I've used some that did. There are very few suppressors which provide hearing safe levels of protection - some maybe wet or using a wipe - certainly not any caliber of consequence or a round which has been downloaded or over-grained to reach subsonic velocities.
Meh, it's not like dems would vote for it anyway.

Only the Republicans can stop the passage of the bill. There is no victory here until it is passed in both houses and signed by the President.
You should have said there are few suppressors that give movie level reductions in sound level, but MOST suppressors today drop the dB down to hearing safe levels. At least for the person behind it.There are very few suppressors which provide hearing safe levels of protection - some maybe wet or using a wipe - certainly not any caliber of consequence or a round which has been downloaded or over-grained to reach subsonic velocities.
Most suppressors bring the sound down to 130-135dB. That's still pretty loudYou should have said there are few suppressors that give movie level reductions in sound level, but MOST suppressors today drop the dB down to hearing safe levels. At least for the person behind it.
I regularly shoot 7.62x51 NATO out of multiple platforms, with a Yankee Hill titanium suppressor, and don't need hearing protection.
Yes. As noted by #15, that historically has not meant much.Only the Republicans can stop the passage of the bill.
If it passes I'm getting a YHM Resonator R2 for my Ruger .308.....Just because. You should have said there are few suppressors that give movie level reductions in sound level, but MOST suppressors today drop the dB down to hearing safe levels. At least for the person behind it.
