Remember when the left canceled "Baby it's Cold Outside." We have truly lost our minds.

What we have today makes that look like a "G" rated TV show. Why would our answer to that era by your words be a thousand times worse? Many in the Boomer generation wanted changes. Somehow it is screwed up.

Okay, let's look at that.

Yes, we have some horrible things out there in culture, but most of them aren't Christmas related. I'm sure people will look back at this stuff in 50 years and say, "What were they thinking?"

yeah and it was glorious.

Was it? The Dixie Chicks were criticized because they objected to the Iraq War.

You know, the war that was fought over weapons that didn't exist, 5000 Americans and half a million Iraqis died needlessly. The entire region is still in turmoil.

Even Republicans don't want to be caught having a drink with Bush today.

I don't know, maybe if we listened to the Dixie Chicks at the time, we could have saved ourselves some trouble.

Okay, watching the video, he's comparing the lyrics of "baby it's cold outside" to "Wet ass p***y".

Because saying "P***y" was bad to conservatives, unless Trump was bragging about grabbing them, then it became okay.

Again- issue is context.

WAP is about a woman saying how much she enjoys CONSENSUAL sex.

BICO is about a guy who gets his girlfriend drunk to have sex with her over her objections.

Um, actually, no. The real problem is that casual misogyny was kind of accepted back then. Get a girl drunk to have sex with her over her objections? Boys will be boys.

Hasn't aged well.

The woman clearly wants to stay but is worried about what people would think. There are versions of the song where the roles are reversed. The song is about flirtation in the 1940's, but that was back when women were women and men were men.

No confusion at all...

It's about a guy who slips his date a roofie (or whatever the 1940 analog was) and talks her out of going home because it's snowing.

This will no doubt confuse future generations, because after Global Warming, we'll all forget what snow was.
Maybe confusion isn't the right word...

You've been told "Seduction song bad!"

So you're just believing as you've been told.

Yup - he's tied her up & is force-feeding her alcohol; it's implied in the lyrics!

Really, buddy?

Okay, let's get real. The reason why this song is an issue at all is because it is Christmas related. Unlike other songs in the 1940's which have been largely forgotten along with their lyrics that haven't aged well, this one kept getting dragged out with all of the other Christmas Standards...

Except unlike a song like "Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer", the lyrics are kind of questionable in a time period where we are all more aware of issues like date rape. We've kind of agreed that getting a girl drunk to have sex with her is, you know, wrong.

The lyrical context is that the guy is getting a girl drunk to have sex with her, while she worries what her puritanical family will think.

It hasn't aged well, unlike other Christmas Standards, that are timeless.

Then again, Rudolf has kind of a Ableist message... your disability is a source of mockery until it proves useful. Hmmmm.

^ This is your brain on liberalism.

I see you're not completely brainwashed yet. :)

Truly amazing. The left is appalled by the idea that an adult male is trying to convince an adult female to spend more time with him, in the hopes that…..wink, wink….and thus bans the song, yet assigns high school kids books that are borderline pornographic and describing ILLEGAL sex acts, such as the one in Liberal Loudoun County involving an underage boy and the adult male who takes advantage of him.

In Liberaville, any hint of normal sex between adults of the opposite sex is banned (and let’s face it, when we were kids and heard that song, none of us got the underlying message), and illegal, perverted sex acts are assigned reading.

Leftists have everything upside-down.
