Sam Clemens had his 189th birthday a couple of days back.

Yup. I remember hearing him say that, I was sitting right across the table from him that day. We were playing a game of one-eye'd Jacks and he was losing a bundle of money. He told me he was going to write a book but he couldn't come up with a good idea.

I told him "Why not write a book about some kid that wanted to run away from home and ride a raft on the Mississippi River? You could put some Negroes in the story to spice it up, everybody likes Negroes these days. Maybe title the book "Blueberry Finn" or something, Now are you gonna deal the cards or just sit there like a damned huckleberry?"

Those were the good times, before those Negroes got all uppity and shit.
