I'm pretty sure I'm engaged in the debate with more credibility than somebody who debates ad hominem.
Those who pled guilty did so because they were coerced into doing so with threats of far more severe retaliation if they did not. The video I posted was omitted by the Jan 6 Commission that almost certainly had it. They wanted to push their own dishonest narrative that all the people in and outside the Capitol that day were 'dangers to our democracy' or other idiotic characterizations that simply have no basis in fact.
Those who broke windows, assaulted and vandalized were severely in the wrong and should be punished. Those were in a very small minority of the whole. Those the Capitol police invited in, held doors open for, escorted in should not be guilty of anything. And Ray Epps on multiple videos encouraging people to go into the Capitol has never been arrested or accused and the FBI will not say whether he was working with them. I find that very curious.
Meanwhile the vast majority of those assaulting, terrorizing, burning, destroying, stealing, vandalizing etc. etc. etc. all during the summer of 2020 have no fear of arrest or any retaliation from the government whatsoever. Hopefully that will change with a GOP led House. But even if those are identified, Biden's DOJ is unlikely to prosecute anybody other than Patriots who were there exercising their constitutional right to peacefully assemble and petition their government for redress of grievances.
We still don't know the motives of those who did engage in violence on Jan 6 and the Jan 6 Commission is notoriously silent about that.
And meanwhile, even prominent Dems admit that due process was not used in either impeachment or the Jan 6 Commission.
Pelosi, Schiff steamrolled objections about lack of witnesses violating Trump's constitutional rights during impeachment trial, according to a new book.
