The right wing has been dismantling the Middle Class? How so? Consider that it has been Democrats over the last 50 years who have turned to models and ideas of thought leaders and other nations that are decidedly Socialist. In Socialism, there can be no middle class. Here in the US, we see Democrats seemingly go after “the wealthy” for more taxes but invariably, the Middle Class keeps less of its paycheck under Democrats.

This is where you are a bit confused.... Other nations have more vibrant middle classes than we do because they have socialized medicine, extensive entitlement programs, etc.

The reason why the middle class has been shrinking is 1) The Republicans shifted the tax burden to them and away from the Rich where it belongs and 2) They disbanded the unions, which created the middle class to start with.
Wow take off that facediaper and breathe in some oxygen there Herr Himmler. You sound like a recruiter for the Hitler Youth.

Republicans did fight unions the more the unions became arms of the Democrat Party but ultimately it was the egregious demands from the Democrat unions that led to economic factors shutting down unions. Here you give too much credit to Republicans.

Fruits of the participation trophy and tide pod eating generation. Good job parents!

A. My generation would be embarrassed as hell living at home.
B. The parents let them stay.

Okay, here's the thing. If by "your generation" you mean baby boomers, the thing about baby boomers is that they could get good jobs and move out when they hit adulthood.

Not so much now. 40 years of Right Wing dismantling of the middle class has had an effect.
$100 cellphone
$100 car insurance
$350 healthcare insurance because Walmart doesn’t provide healthcare to workers
$1000 rent
$300 car payment
$400 food and clothing

How can a young person afford to move out?

My only problem is if the kids not working and saving or going to school.

Apparently you Leftards think raising gas and home energy costs along with making homes expensive is the cure.
Hey, the housing market is booming. People are putting their homes up for sale for $150,000 and people are bidding on them. So the owner ends up getting $180,000. You got a problem with that?

The only thing making houses more expensive is demand.

Oh, and a shortage of fucking supplies you retard. Because of Corona. Blame Trump. It's like blaming Obama for how he's handling Iraq. You can't do that. Bush broke it and Obama is doing his best to put it back together again.

Do you know all the guys who caused the Great Recession got bonus'? The CEO's of Goldman Sucks and Pain Weber got bonus' rather than getting fired. The idea was, "who else can fix what they broke?" It's not like you can go find someone higher up than a CEO to come in and clean up a CEO's mess. So the CEO's who screwed us made a fortune. Same with CEO's today who's business' are struggling. I believe Royal Carribian's CEO got a raise this year. How when no one went on cruises last year? Seems the rich just keep getting richer.

You got that right. Additionally there were our moms warning us children 60 years ago that we shouldn't look to her, we'd be responsible for raising our own kids. At least that's the way it was in our house.
I've seen a lot of Republicans say they'd never take foodstamps or unemployment checks but then something goes wrong and they find themselves embarrassingly living in moms basement and justifying why it's different with them.

I thank God for my parents. I had some rough times during the Bush years. That was a horrible decade. My brother was on the rise to becoming VP of a fortune 500 and I can't seem to keep a job for very long. It was a rough decade to be a salesperson in manufacturing. Jobs were fleeing the country for Mexico and China.

It's the Democrat wage and price controls.
If you're living in your parent's basement, you're never going to to bust the $15/wage ceiling or beat the $2000/month rent floor imposed by the Democrats' labor and real estate cártel for your own place.

No. If you are not living in your parents basement then you will never get out of student debt or save up the money to put 20% down on a home. My friends who rented apartments together took years longer than me to buy their own homes. I saved up the down payment in 1 year living at home with my parents.

I wanted to get the fuck out. They treated me like a child living under their roof. But they also didn't charge me rent or for food.

My dad had same problem in the 70's as a milling machine salesman in the midwest when he was 54. Even though he never went to college he eventually took a teaching job at a vocational high school. It required him to take a few college classes, but he was able to buy 4 years of tenure for his time in the Navy during war. After teaching 6 years along with the military credit of 4 years he was able to retire with a good pension with great health insurance coverage. Hopefully things have similarly worked out well for you.

But they also didn't charge me rent or for food.
Lucky you. What a privileged brat. That's too much inherited wealth.

That's another huge difference between my generation and the younger generation. Many of the people my age I see getting inheritance when they're parents pass away. My neighbor is a perfect example. Her father was a GM engineer for over 30 years. Saved, invested, got a pension, was paid well, left her a fortune. She gives massages. So I see her spending money and I laugh because she would be broke if it weren't for her daddy's wealth. And I'm sure she got a lot more than I have coming. My dad will probably leave me and my brother $800,000. That's $400,000 each. Today most 20 years olds if you ask them they'll tell you they are going to have to take care of their parents. Their parents have no savings. This is a big difference between the haves and have nots. Getting an inheritance, having daddy pay for your college, buy you your first car, help put the down payment on your first home, helping you get your business started, pay for your wedding, etc.

Tell you what. Give me all my money I handed into welfare and social security and I won’t complain.

In fairness, some people have good reasons for it. Certainly not THAT many of them, but some.

My husband and I both lived with our parents until we got married at 26, but that's because both of us had dying fathers who needed to be taken care of, and mothers who couldn't cope without help.

I thought we were supposed to be worried about the disintegration of the American family. Just because they're living with their parents, doesn't mean they don't contribute.
Yes, the family unit is all about children never forging their own lives and families.
Who said never? Large family units have been around forever and the kids were alright.
No shock you justify a 35 year old living in the basement. You one of them?

Okay, 35 is a bit much to justify on pretty much any account. At that point, if you're living with your parents, it better be because THEY moved in with YOU.

Why does it matter if someone's kid lives at home? It has NO effect on the nation. It's their business. Explain WHY this bothers you. It's just weird to even think about this nothing burger stuff.

Dayum, went over 50% for the first time under Trump...

... no wonder America kicked him to the curb.

Who has a stronger Middle Class than US? Regarding taxes how come the Middle Class had more of its paychecks deducted for taxes under Obama compared to Trump?

how about cutting spending? $10M for gender studies in Pakistan and $25M for new curtains at the Kennedy Center is really helping the Middle Class feel good about paying more in taxes.

Actually, most of western Europe...

And, no paying less in taxes isn't a good thing if you are borrowing more than your country's GDP.

You mean NAFTA? That was your team.

NAFTA was negotiated by Bush Senior... so wrong again. Not that NAFTA was the problem. The problem was when Reagan let big business dismantle the unions. That's why we don't have a middle class anymore.
Joe there are hundreds and hundreds of taxes. They add up and take up a percentage of everything we do and purchase and survive off of. The real privileged are in jobs above the norm with benefits and pensions. The government gets involved to raise minimum wages ay times but the endless amount of taxes many no one sees takes a good cut out of their living standards.

Wages have been stagnant for many years. How anyone can live on $20 per hour is a mystery. That's not even sniffing middle class.

Hey, dummy, learn to use the quote feature properly.

You guys pick out what, $35MM in a 4 Trillion budget? That's like saying you didn't buy a candy bar, so you've solved your economic problems.

our biggest line items on the national budget are.

Social Security - 1.1 TRILLION
Medicare - 800 Billion
Defense - 700 Billion
Medicaid 400 Billion.

That 3 Trillion of the four trillion we spend every year. Not even counting things we should be spending on, like Roads, infrastructure, education, research, development.

Here's how you get to spending cuts. Pass a balanced budget amendment, stop pretending Medicare and Social Security are separate budgets. Require 500 Billion be set aside for Debt Reduction every year. (It would STILL take us 52 years to retire the debt.)

As long as we keep borrowing, we'll keep spending.
