Real wages for hourly workers are up nearly 2% in the first five months of Trump’s second term

For what? After Trump has spent $100 billion in Iran, what will we have won? Nothing. Oh Trump will tell you we won but guess what? He's just lying and trying to save face. Won't be the first time. Remember when he got caught trying to lie to you about the wall?

During a January 2017 phone call, U.S. President Donald Trump urged Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto to stop telling the press that Mexico would not pay for the U.S.-Mexico border wall. Trump told Peña Nieto to say they were "working it out" even if it wasn't true, because he needed to save face politically.

Trump admitted that making Mexico pay was politically his most important promise. He told Peña Nieto, "But you cannot say that to the press. The press is going to go with that, and I cannot live with that."

Trump Told Mexican President Border Wall Is 'Least Important Thing'

The transcripts say that Trump told Peña Nieto that the border wall is "the least important thing we are talking about, but politically this might be the most important."

This is a startling admission from a president who at rallies led his supporters in chants of "build the wall."

But the wall was important to his base. Although it has not been popular nationally — Pew Research Center found that 62 percent of Americans opposed such a wall — it polled well among conservative Republicans, with 80 percent approving.
For what? Keeping the Iranians from getting nukes, massacring their people and weakening their ballistic missile program

Not sure what a phone call with Mexicos former president has to do with the discussion

....

Correll, I have a friend at the dog park who's a painter. He says business has dried up. How is that possible with all the illegals gone? Blue collar should be booming.

It should. I wonder...

I wonder if this that bit, where good macro economic numbers hid microeconodic pain, but in reverse.

ie the overall numbers might not be great, but blue collar AMERICANS, are benefitting...

I know but it's not a reflection of the job market. If you really want to know if workers wages are up, take out ss payments. It's a more accurate number.

Beyond Social Security, the U.S. government provides numerous financial payouts, tax credits, and assistance programs. These include federal and state safety nets, healthcare subsidies, housing vouchers, tax rebates, and veteran benefits.

Don't worry about it. Basically social security. They got a bump in pay in January. You are adding that to the number and saying "wages are up". No they are not. Oh sure you tax social security like wages but it's not wages and it's hiding the fact that

AFTER FACTORING IN INFLATION, WAGES ARE DOWN FOR WORKERS.

Correll Hafar1014 told me wages were up. Not really. I can't wait for the jobs numbers on Friday. Are they going to be good? **** no.

Explain how decreasing supply has not increased price.

It should. I wonder...

I wonder if this that bit, where good macro economic numbers hid microeconodic pain, but in reverse.

No they are not. Did you see my post yesterday? Take out social security payments and LABOR is not doing better.

I think we know why. People are holding off on getting their house painted. Stuff like that can wait. But people are still spending. They may be putting it on a credit card, but they are still spending. Perhaps they think this is temporary.

I was thinking about this yesterday. No, I don't want blue collar to make more money. Why? Because they will only piss it away. So it will cost me more and still they'll be no better off than when they made $2 hr less. Plus it'll cause inflation right?

Blue-collar Americans are indeed facing a severe economic squeeze, with job growth turning negative and real wages struggling to outpace inflation. Despite the average blue-collar worker making roughly \(\$53,440\) a year (about \(\$25.69\) an hour), the working class has experienced a sharp contraction in employment opportunities. [1, 2, 3, 4]

  • construction, and transportation—have shed approximately 150,000 jobs on a rolling annual basis. Manufacturing has been particularly hard hit, driving the steepest contraction in manual labor jobs since the COVID-19 pandemic. [1, 2, 3, 4]
  • Stagnant Real Wages & High Inflation: Roughly 82% of blue-collar workers report their wages are failing to keep up with cost-of-living increases, making it difficult to pay everyday bills. Inflation has deeply eroded purchasing power. [1, 2, 3]
  • Macroeconomic Pressures: Elevated interest rates have cooled the housing and construction booms. Furthermore, policy changes like aggressive tariff increases have inadvertently raised costs for domestic manufacturers, limiting their ability to expand or increase worker pay. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Here you clearly adn honestly express your position, ie that you OPPOSE WAGE GROWTH for blue collar workers, including the working poor.

Here you admit that blue collar workers and their families are facing a severe economic squeeze.

But, keep in mind, you oppose helping them. That is your position. You want them to continue to face this, as a permanent part of their life. Forever.

My interest in this discussion is HOW to improve quality of life for Americans, especially working poor and middle class Americans.

That you oppose this, put's us at odds.

Your goal of STATUS QUO, that benefits you adn the super rich....

Do we have much to discuss on this? your solutions are meant to stop my goals....

What is there for us to discuss?

Omg, no, inflation isn't caused by people earning more money. You are clueless

I'm going to use a line I hear from Republicans all the time. Paying you more will just cause inflation. If you want to do better, you need to go back to school. Doesn't have to be college. Do you have a skilled trade? If not, don't expect to earn a living that will pay your family.

It's just not realistic. It's not how capitalism works. Not according to Republicans.

One way to compensate you is provide you with more government services. More affordable housing, healthcare, college.

But this system is designed to pay blue collar less not more. Sorry but you hear small business owners cry when you tell them they need to pay a few bucks more an hour. You do realize you vote with small business right? They love Republicans. Most blue collar workers work for small business'. Take it up with them.

I have a college degree. You could go to college or start your own company. And when you do, pay your employees as much as you want. Right to work!

There is nothing for us to discuss. You still believe in Trump. If that's still true, what can I say?

I'm going to use a line I hear from Republicans all the time. Paying you more will just cause inflation.

I got that you are againt the very idea of helping the working poor. And maybe the middle class. That was my point. We are in agreement that you oppose my/our interests.

You don't need to explain your reasons. The point is that we are discussing at CROSS PURPOSES.

My is to advance the interests of American workers and their families.

Yours is... something else. I think to advance the progressive politcial agenda. Some concern about your direct personal interest but you seem confident that you are ok. So....

If you want to do better, you need to go back to school. Doesn't have to be college. Do you have a skilled trade? If not, don't expect to earn a living that will pay your family.

This is your policy position, ie you are against any attempt to improve the interests of the WORKING POOR.

I strongly disagree. There is no reason in our society, that we should be actively AGAINST even the idea of discussing their interests.

To me, that is insane. They are Americans too. THey deserve conseration in policy discussion. THeir interests deserve representation.

It's just not realistic. It's not how capitalism works. Not according to Republicans.

That is just shit talk. SOME rhinos, or hard core FREE TRADERS might say stupid shit like that, but MAGA is not on board.

We want to make the situation better for the working poor.

YOu are heartless.

One way to compensate you is provide you with more government services. More affordable housing, healthcare, college.

We've seen what happens when we give money to people like you to help poor people.

You use it for political ends, such as importing the TURD WORLD.

So, **** that shit.

The current system is what I want to change and you want to keep.

So.... yeah. YOu want this and I want to see it change. I want more pay for the working poor.

I have a college degree. You could go to college or start your own company. And when you do, pay your employees as much as you want. Right to work!

We are discussing policy. When in a policy discussion, you change over to giving PERSONAL advice, that is you running away from teh policy discussion.

Your position is that you are against the economic interests of the American workers.

I am FOR the interests of the American workers.

I only wish that your dem leaders would be as honest as you. Then we could get them out of office, except in californian, and then make this country great again.

There is nothing for us to discuss. You still believe in Trump. If that's still true, what can I say?

YOu could discuss what is your goal for your policy positions?

Is it as I suspect, just to advance the progressive agenda? IDEOLOGY?

To be honest, the only way to help low wage workers in a capitalistic society is to raise taxes on the rich and provide those poor people with subsidized housing, transportation, food. Take for example Walmart. No matter what you do, no matter how many great jobs you bring back home, Walmart is never going to pay what Farmer Jacks paid people back in the 1970's. A person could raise a family on the wages back then. A waiter could raise a family. Some waiters made $100K a year in tips. Those days are gone.

Gone are the days where a guy out of high school can walk into a union factory and have a secure job for 30 years and with overtime make as much as I do. Those days are gone. Don't blame me. Blame you. You voted for it. And now you want to fault me for going with it? Pssht.

We need that cheap labor. America was built on the back of immigrant Chinese who made a penny a day. If their boss wasn't taking some of it. Freemen they called the blacks who used to be slaves. How much do you think they made? White men wouldn't even do that work unless forced to. The Mormons did some work.

Anyways, as far back as America goes, Capitalism has been taking advantage of the poor. Ditch diggers. That changed with FDR and liberal policies. Everything you hate. So I'm not supporting you. I'm with Trump.

Wage stagnation is real. We are in agreement. Thanks for.... hammering hte point home more... for some reason.

You are now playing retard.

Back in the 70s and 80s. the FREE TRADE faction made some good arguments and won the policy debate.

Their policies were implemented. THey seemed to work. They DID work, in that macro economic numbers soared.

But, wages stagnated.

And now we see that the long term effects are not good.

So.... now the FREE TRADERS have been defeated in the policy debate by MAGA, who want to change policy, to help the workers who lost out over the last 50 years.

Yeah, that's racist bullshit. America was built by white farmers marching west over time.

THe chinese helped get the railroad built a few years ealier.

Whoopdee ******* doo.

Anyways, as far back as America goes, Capitalism has been taking advantage of the poor. Ditch diggers. That changed with FDR and liberal policies. Everything you hate. So I'm not supporting you. I'm with Trump.

You haven't been clear on WHY you are against them.

You haven't been clear on WHY you are against them.

You all have proven to me to not only not be worthy of a fair wage, I don't think you should be allowed to vote anymore.

The super rich? Ha ha. If you haven't figured it out by now, the GOP only pretend to be against the elite.

You all have proven to me to not only not be worthy of a fair wage, I don't think you should be allowed to vote anymore.

I get that you are actively hostile to my interests. Thank you for your honesty.

I wish your lefty leadership would be as honest so that no American workers would vote for them.

The super rich? Ha ha. If you haven't figured it out by now, the GOP only pretend to be against the elite.

Considering the way that the superrich mobilized against Trump in all his elections, I think that I find that "pretense" pretty convincing.

Sealybobo,

WHY are you against my interests? WHY are you so hostile to me and mine?

What did we ever do to you? Is it just that we oppose the lefty progressive ideological agenda?

You deserve it. You're being manipulated and I can tell you're too smart to ever figure it out. Well, so I am now shifting my lifestyle around to accommodate your stupidity. Like who I invest in. Back in the day you idiots convinced me to do global sales. A lot more customers out there than just here in America. A lot more to be gained in a global economy. So I rolled with it. And helping you will cost me. Trump gives me tax breaks. You're talking about costing me. I'll have to pay more if they give you a raise.

I hire you to cut my grass or fix my house and you do a bad job. The illegals did a great job. That's why. And you cost me more.

So you convinced us back then to send jobs overseas, hire illegal workers, basically it's every man for himself and the laws don't matter. Lie, cheat, steal is good. Trump is good. Occasionally Trump slips too and admits he doesn't care about you. But you know that's not what he meant. Me neither. Right? I was just kidding or you took me out of context.

AI and Automation is coming and there is no way you are going to make more at the same time AI is taking your jobs. And you vote Republican so don't ask the government to step in and interfere in the free market. Don't be a hypocrite. And when there are no jobs don't look for a government handout because there won't be one.

You deserve it. You're being manipulated and I can tell you're too smart to ever figure it out.

How am I being manipulated?

I mean, YOU are hostile to me and my interests. So, why should I NOT vote for the OTHER side? That is at least trying to help me and mine.

....

I hire you to cut my grass or fix my house and you do a bad job. The illegals did a great job. That's why. And you cost me more.

That makes sense when you think about it. Here, the cream of the crop of American workers are making big money somewhere else. When you are hiring locals to cut your grass, you are getting people who can't get better jobs.

When you hire from a failed turd world nation, you are getting their better workers, who can organize moving thousands of miles to find work.

So, by depriving you are quality imported third world labor, we are HELPING native born workers.

So, that's a win from my MAGA perspective.

So you convinced us back then to send jobs overseas, hire illegal workers, basically it's every man for himself and the laws don't matter. ....

Now you are pretending to not know how time works.

Yes, IN THE PAST, teh FREE TRADE faction won the debate and enacted policy.

But in the long run, it did not work out the way it was promised.

So, we, the GOP changed our minds and our policies.

That this is confusing to you, is very alarming.

AI and Automation are issues. We do need to figure out how to deal with them.

Your shit talk about "republicans", mean nothing here.

If we are moving to a post work economy, we will have a debate about how to deal with that. I hope you can do better that the shit talk you are doing now.

You have admitted that you are hostile to me and mine.

That is retarded of you. That you think I should vote for you is retarded.
No. I tried to help but you are undeserving of help. Notice the Democrats aren't trying to hard to win you back? They think it should be obvious to you at this point that you voted for the wrong party.

I want you to vote for us not me. You are one of us. But since you don't see that, and so many low information votes are like you, I have to go with the flow here bro. Just like back in the 90's when your party got Clinton to sign NAFTA. Clearly you didn't ***** enough about NAFTA to stop them from coming up with the idea. By the time it got to Bill's desk, it was a done deal.

Don't forget, it was Republicans who signed NAFTA. They were hostile to you then. Because you made too much. You were in unions and the companies paid you well. Back then I was on your side. But clearly you voted for Republicans or they wouldn't have gotten into power. You think they are on your side? They aren't. So now the only way I'm going to support you is if you are in a union. If you are in an at will employer, you have no right to your job. Why should you blue collar dopes have this when I don't? But I have a degree and some negotiating power on my own. You don't. You only have collective bargaining power. But you are against that so actually it's you who is hostile to your kind not me. I was trying to help.

Now I see you don't deserve help. I was wrong. Hillary was right you are deplorables and Trump agrees.

Republicans will gripe and moan and wail if gas prices are high when a Democrat like Joe Biden is in the White House, they will say the world is ending, but the minute a Republican parks his keister behind the resolute desk, high gas prices are just part of life.

U.S. inflation is at a three-year high. It is, notably, higher than it was when the much-maligned Biden left office, leaving behind a strong economy that had rebounded from the COVID-19 pandemic.

With that in mind, let’s listen to what Trump said when asked whether the financial situation Americans are facing factors into his decision-making on the war: “Not even a little bit.”

Great. That’s probably the first honest thing he has said since getting into politics.

No. I tried to help but you are undeserving of help. Notice the Democrats aren't trying to hard to win you back? They think it should be obvious to you at this point that you voted for the wrong party.

Democrats aren't trying to win votes from me or mine, because they are completely hostile to me and mine, so they CAN'T bring themselves to do ANYTHING, that would appeal to me or mine.

In the 90s, the gop was still in the grip of the FREE TRADERS.

Patrick Buchanan was out there trying to fight them, but your legacy media called him racist and the normies bought it.

So, we didn't start fixing it then.

I supported Buchanan, but he lost.

Don't forget, it was Republicans who signed NAFTA.

No, it was BILL CLINTON that SIGNED nafta. It was republcians who WROTE IT.

So, at that time, both parties were supporting GLOBALIZATION.

So, voters, such as myself had to make their choices based on other issues.

And then as now, the gop was at least not hating me with the fiery passion that the hard left does.

They were hostile to you then. Because you made too much. You were in unions and the companies paid you well. Back then I was on your side. But clearly you voted for Republicans or they wouldn't have gotten into power. You think they are on your side? They aren't. So now the only way I'm going to support you is if you are in a union. This is weird. you are angry today, and supporting globalization TODAY, because you think that blue collar workers voted republican back in the 90s?

Now I see you don't deserve help. I was wrong. Hillary was right you are deplorables and Trump agrees.

Errr, even if we did support globalization, which we didn't, that would make us WRONG on a matter of economic policy,

not "deplorable".

You are now not making any sense.

Tell me more about how you think we are "deplorable"?

Republicans will gripe and moan and wail if gas prices are high when a Democrat like Joe Biden is in the White House, they will say the world is ending, but the minute a Republican parks his keister behind the resolute desk, high gas prices are just part of life.

Actually, I bet that perception in your mind is a creation of your own media and the way they report, especially in your bubble.

U.S. inflation is at a three-year high. It is, notably, higher than it was when the much-maligned Biden left office, leaving behind a strong economy that had rebounded from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Great. That’s probably the first honest thing he has said since getting into politics.

I wonder if the context of that question was something like, NUCLEAR WEAPONS, and NUCLEAR EXCHANGE IN THE MIDDLE EAST, or even NEW DARK AGE?

You really don't mind looking utterly retarded.

Very strange.
