Unless you're a leftist, it's easy to understand why Americans are suing a guy who puts non-citizens ahead of citizens for political appearances.

From Joe Caldwell.

The Republicans cannot afford to have this issue go away.

The number of unauthorized immigrants in the U.S. peaked in 2007 and has declined ever since. It is now only about 3% of the U.S. population.

But the Republicans have fed and nurtured this issue to the point that the average American citizen believes that most of our problems flow from this tiny population, including crime, poverty, unemployment, and election issues.

All of these beliefs are, of course, counterfactual. Unauthorized immigrants have lower crime rates, pay taxes in excess of their cost burdens, and essentially never vote.

At the end of the day however, this misperception creates too many votes for the Republicans, for them to ever settle the issue.

From Joe Caldwell

According to the National Science Foundation, using 2012-2018 data from the Texas Department of Public Safety, undocumented immigrants have substantially lower crime rates than native-born citizens and legal immigrants across a range of felony offenses.

US-born citizens are over 2 times more likely to be arrested for violent crimes, 2.5 times more likely to be arrested for drug crimes, and over 4 times more likely to be arrested for property crimes than undocumented immigrants.

Additionally, the proportion of arrests involving undocumented immigrants in Texas was relatively stable or decreasing over the 2012-2018 period.

After the tax reductions of 2017 the economy expanded until the 3rd quarter of 2019. At that point we reached essentially full employment and the economy stalled with a growth rate below 2.5%.

Additionally, 10-year projections by the Bureau of Labor Statistics indicate that the U.S. growth during the post Covid-19 recovery period will be “labor-force limited.”

According to recently published work by George Mason University, the U.S population in the absence immigration would fall to about 325 million by 2060, the portion of the population in the working force would fall to about 57%, and GDP would be about $32 trillion, which is 27% less than with current levels of immigration.

Scenarios with a more robust immigration policy invariably gave much better results.
Without a robust, immigration policy the United States is destined to become smaller, older, and poorer.

You & Joe have problems with numbers, first of all.

What's more, 3% of 1,000,000 or an unknown percent of 500,000?

Exactly.

An open border invasion, with no vetting for diseases or criminality, isn't "robust immigration policy" numbnutz.

Wow sounds so wonderful! I guess we should eliminate all immigration laws immediately, wouldn't you agree?
Except maybe we should start deporting U.S. citizens right?... maybe a better use for ICE?

The federal constitution is clear, that presidents have total discretion on immigration, and can grant political asylum to foreign national whenever they want.
Don't forget, the Founders were all foreign nationals at one time.

Not only do undocumented immigrants have about half the crime rate of citizens, but they also play a greater role in improving the economy in this country, since they are willing to work harder for less, pay more taxes, and get no benefits.

They do that BECAUSE they are undocumented aliens, it is how they stay in the country longer by taking what they can get to stay invisible from the police longer.

ICE officers requested “permission to take custody of numerous dangerous illegal aliens, including child rapists and drug dealers, but have been denied permission by their superiors under the Biden Administration policy. The Biden Administration policy stands in direct violation of not one, but three, different federal statutes. Congress has mandated that the executive branch must detain and remove certain illegal aliens, but the Biden Administration is ignoring the law. It has also created an unbearable burden for local law enforcement in Texas.

And there you have it, the criminal Biddum Administration breaking the law protecting dangerous criminals both as an assault on this country and as an assault on the great state of Texas which they revile.

You know, Tommy, it wouldn't be so bad if the Left offered a SOUND AND REASONABLE EXCUSE for the actions of their party, BUT THEY NEVER DO! Apparently they can't. They stand there attacking Trump for every tiny thing while excusing glaring, huge offenses by their own party! Then they can't even give a valid reason why, instead offering up ad hominems, weak excuses, circuitous grade-school arguments and childish reasons. ALL OF IT always 180° diametrically opposite of common sense in an apparent contempt for Americans and America.
