Hmmm, I dont know about all that. Why would Trump want to voluntarily attend a sham hearing where everyone on the panel previously voted to impeach him?

Trump held a protest, where he openly told people to march peacefuly, and then later on to go home peacefully. Yeah, he and his supporters protested the outcome of an election, and when Democrats make it into sedition to do so, THEN you will have destroyed our democracy.

The fact that a riot also took place on capitol grounds, by people who werent even listening to Trumps speech, gives you or anyone else zero grounds to call the initial protest "destroying democracy" or an insurrection. FBI had seen warning signs on social media in days previous to Jan 6th that groups might be planning some sort of violence,... and remember this was all following a summer of riots and lawlessness and division all over the U.S. where we saw leftists attacking cities, police stations and court houses,...... yet, the FBI did not recommend increasing capitol security? Those in charge of Capitol security never thought to do so? even when Trump's D.O.D. asked for 20,000 National Guard?
Why is it that these questions didnt come up in the hearing? and why not the video we saw of Guards waving protestors inside the capitol building?
It's quite amazing that you and other here find ranking Democrats like Pelosi and Schiff so pure and innocent. I see them as manipulators of the highest order. No wonder Trump wouldnt subject himself to that charade...

In a three-page memo obtained by Politico, Jacob concluded that Pence was at risk of a losing a battle in court if he followed through with conservative attorney John Eastman’s scheme for the then-VP to block or delay the count of the Electoral College votes. The memo, titled “Analysis of Professor Eastman’s Proposals,” is dated Jan. 5. Jacob, however, claimed during his testimony with the Jan. 6 Select Committee in February that he drafted most of the memo a day earlier following a meeting with Eastman.

“If the Vice President implemented Professor Eastman’s proposal, he would likely lose in court,” Jacob wrote.

In this universe, the members of Trump’s mob who assaulted police officers and breached the Capitol, and are now being prosecuted for it, are actually “political prisoners.” The Jan. 6 committee ― which includes two Republican members, one of whom is the vice chair ― is a sham. Ted Cruz of Texas. “There will be bombshells, and every Republican who opposed the creation of the committee is a Republican who worked to prevent that information from ever becoming public.”
