Because some like yourself said im not but many think iam i also dont ask often whether im white or brown i just ask to guess ethnicity but not always about myself i do not say whether this person is brown i usually do not use the word brown but nationality like can this person pass as mexican for example now some nationalities are considered brown and others as white so you could make a association but i do not say person x is white or brown and it really does not matter to me we are all black when the lights turn off
