Gorilla, a female rapper performing for the WNBA, was arrested for drug possession.

She's upset about being in wrongful possession of marijuana and a controlled substance.

So stupid.

"Rapper GloRilla (real name Gloria Hallelujah Woods) was arrested on felony drug charges after police responded to a burglary at her home in Forsyth County, Georgia.

🔹 What Happened

  • Deputies were called to her residence after reports of a break-in and shots fired.
  • While investigating, officers claimed they smelled narcotics and obtained a search warrant.
  • They found a significant amount of marijuana and a Schedule I controlled substance in her master bedroom closet.

🔹 GloRilla’s Response
She was not home during the incident—she was performing at the WNBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis.
She later turned herself in and was released on bond the same day.

On social media, she criticized law enforcement for focusing on cannabis rather than the burglary suspects, saying:

“Long story short my house gets home invaded and I’m the only one that gets arrested.”

🔹 Legal Perspective
Her attorneys argue she’s a victim, not a suspect, and called the arrest “a disturbing window into how warped law enforcement priorities have become”.

“Long story short my house gets home invaded and I’m the only one that gets arrested.”

I sympathize with her. I also sympathize with the Cops.

What were they supposed to do, walk away like they didn't see anything? Then, some kid dies of an OD and it's traceable back to them walking away?

This is a classic Lose-Lose situation.

Moral of the story? Don't keep a bunch of hard Drugs in the house. It attracts burglers.

And those 'burglers"? Usually somebody you know.

I am no fan of hard rugs.

I am guessing her weed was strong and smelly. But the cops didn’t just then search. They followed the law and sought a warrant. They got it. And, not surprisingly, they found her marijuana.

I’d be interested in the specific charges re the marijuana. I assume it’s a lower level crime since the circumstances suggest personal use as opposed to possession with intent to sell or distribute.

They didn't smell shit. They just wanted to look around or saw something that wouldn't have got them the warrant but they wanted to look into it or, more likely.... It was out in the open but needed a warrant to seize it as evidence

You know I'm one of the most Conservative posters on the Board but I know Cops and they are the lyingest bitches there is. Everybody knows it... Lawyers, Judges, they all know Cops will sit in Court and lie their asses off.

I guess they figure they got it coming since they risk their lives arresting scumbags all day and the Bad Guys lying attorneys get the charges dismissed on a bunch of lies.

Whatever. Just understand -- An Honest Man (or woman) has no chance in the Court System.

Says you. But, obviously, you have no basis for making that claim. It isn’t exactly a news flash that weed these days stinks.

Doubtful. If it had been out in the open, they wouldn’t have needed a warrant. Ever hear of the doctrine of “plain view?”

Your qualification as a conservative isn’t at issue. Your assessment of general police credibility, however, is ridiculous.

Of course we know that some cops lie. But you paint with a very broad brush. And it’s not persuasive.

No. Some people believe it. Many don’t.

For a conservative you sound mighty liberal.

I have had too many interactions with police officers to number. In my experience, most of them are honest. Period. The bad ones ruin the reputation for all the rest because of silly overgwnralizaruons, like yours.
Whatever. Just understand -- An Honest Man (or woman) has no chance in the Court System.
No. You understand. If you’re guilty as a ************, most often (although not always) you get convicted. Similarly, if you’re innocent of the charged crimes, in most cases (but, sadly, not all), you end up getting acquitted.

Well, you can't say that the authorities weren't thorough at least in one way. Were the intruders ever found and arrested for the break in?

God bless you always!!!

She wasn't there and uninvited people entered her residence? Who fired the shots? Police came and found drugs. How do they know the drugs were hers? The home invaders may have planted them to incriminate her for all the police know. She better inprove her legal counsel.

She also has had a prior arrest for drunk driving.

I think this is hard to prove as false, as in, the police has no way of proving that the drug really does belong to someone, unless they have a witness or tape showing that they put that there themselves or they were seen smoking it or whatever. And if this defense works, then in theory, pretty much nobody will ever be charged with possession of controlled substances, because they can just claim that someone planted it there to incriminate them and the police can't prove otherwise.
