Actually, I don’t think Ramaswamy was clearly the best candidate last night, performance wise. Overall, he may have helped his own campaign. But the exposure also showed his warts.
Pence did ok. But he came off like a bit of an overstarched oldster. He seemed deeply petty at times. Oddly enough, he also scored enough points so that he may have assisted his struggling campaign a bit.
Fat boy has his moments, too. There is something more mature and sophisticated and seasoned about how he conducts himself. His relentless attacks on Trump didn’t sell. Good. In that sense, I suspect he hurt his own chances.
Haley generally aided her own campaign I believe. But I doubt it was enough to make it last too much longer.
Asa may have been honest about his own views. But it is largely because of his comments concerning Trump that I struck him from my list of “maybes.” If his campaign doesn’t fold up the tent pretty quickly, his backers are wasting money.
DeSantis consistently spoke reasonably and had some good moments.
Aside from the childish refusal to abide by the ground rules, and a few clunker lines, the night was better than I’d expected.
