If there is no peace, Russia will just hunker down in the territories they have taken and play defense. From time to time they will lob a missile or two at a critical target in Ukraine.

Ukraine will be kept in perpetual war for another 5 years, run out of soldiers, have no economy and the West will continue to pay the economic price while China waits for the right moment to strike Taiwan.

If Ukraine wants to keep fighting and Europe and the world is willing to fund it AND provide men, then continue. Otherwise, we have to stop killing our own species. Putin has damaged his reputation forever and Russia will take years to get out from under that.

3- CIA Agent Victoria Nuland responded by stating "**** the Minsk Agreements - the US is not a signatory"
4- Ethnic Russians in Crimea and Donetsk declared their independence from Ukraine and demanded to re-join Russia - The CIA authorized their puppet Zelenskyy to declared them domestic terrorists and to commence a genocide
5- Putin had no choice but to defend his people East of the Dnipro River

Russia has a long and storied history of mistreating, murdering and starving Ukrainians. It continues in some forms to this day. Ukrainians would rather die than be under Russian rule ever again.

I have no doubt that in time Russian citizens will pay a price especially if Chinas economy declines and they can't fund Russia as they did. However, Communists never care about their citizens so it won't change their pursuits regardless.
