New York Governor Kathy Hochul is pumping the brakes on Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani's campaign promise to make city buses free.

On Monday, the governor said she is not ready to move forward with free buses, preferring to subsidize fares only for low-income riders.

"I cannot set forth a plan right now that takes money out of a system that relies on the fares of the buses and the subways," she said.

What will be the next Mamdani promise to fall apart? A government run grocery store may happen, not too sure about its sustainability though.

There is going to be many such "climb downs" on promises made. Watch and see.

Then his supporters will protest and get angry. It could get interesting in NY over the next couple of years but I'm just spit balling here.

What will be the next Mamdani promise to fall apart?
His promise to repeal and replace Obamacare?

His promise to lower grocery prices on day one?

His promise to end inflation on day one?

.
Oh wait...

That was some other lying asshole.

.

So long as the little communist lizard alien muslim terrorist baby-eating, and whatever other smears the MAGAs can throw at him...so long as he runs New York City better than socialist New York Democrat "The Donald" Trump ran his casinos, the city will be just fine.

They have survived far worse, including the present mayor.

The present mayor is why Mamdani won.

It was never feasible

After he eliminates NYPD, he'll have to put social workers on every corner to cut down on the protests.

The voters know that all the powers of evil are marshalled against him, so as long as he's legitimately working to fulfill his promises he'll be just fine.

Why can't be bus transportation be free everywhere if solar energy is free? That's what a generation of federal educated kids think, only solar energy ain't free

Workers of the world, unite!
All you have to lose is your free bus pass.

Wow how weird…you have to be the first and only self proclaimed conservative gone full-blown admitted commie…Right?
You should get some kind award for that.

She’s an idiot as well but apparently passed a math class. I do have to ask though why is the governor of a state so involved with buses in a city? The entire state is paying into this failure?

Anytime one liberal opposes another liberal is a good enough win for me. Putting them both in a no-holds barred cage match to the death would be more interesting, but I'll take what I can get. :04:
