Proud To Be White

Hardly the equal economically or socially of America. Its generally considered to pretty much still be bordering on chaos there, and where chaos reigns the lifestyle, crime and social vices will generally flourish. What is our excuse here in America?

lifestyle: worship of the almighty dollar
crime: structural violence and worship of the almighty dollar
social vices: I don't think America is any worse than the rest of the world, with the exception of gambling...which is also a product of cash lust.

Do you have friends of other ethnicities? Have they ever mentioned to you a scheme to breed themselves into power?

Pale, and all of the other people here fearing a cultural take over, are forgetting some important aspects of the influx of immigrants into America.

1: Not all spanish speaking people are the same. The immigrants do not share the close cultural ties as many here seem to imagine. They eat different foods, speak in different dialects, and share different customs. There are also different races of spanish speaking people (darks skinned native heritage, lighter skin spanish heritage) and cultural tensions within the spanish community. To suppose a hispanic agenda to take over America would require turning a blind eye to the inrticacies of the spanish community.

2: Immigration to America is a factor of globalization, and will ultimately breed more cohesiveness as opposed to prejudice. The world is becoming more diverse through industry, corporation, mass media, and transit. As all of this happens, we become more alike. More Americans live and work abroad than ever before, and more foreigners find work in America. This is not just an American trend. By the end of this century, races will not be contained in there "natural homelands" but will be more intermingled across the globe. At the same time, people all over the globe will be eating/drinking/watching/wearing the same products. Globalization has many flaws, but the blending of races is one of the positives.

The world is becoming more diverse through industry, corporation, mass media, and transit. As all of this happens, we become more alike.

Wanna make up your mind on this one?

No, its 40 years of liberalisam run amok, more specifically it can be traced back to the hippie generation, their unique lifestyle and parenting techniques and their ensuing offspring who have ruined America.

Its so convenient to blame capitalism, isn't it?

lol, diverse was the wrong word. Integrated is what I meant to say...my bad.

I'm curious 1549,

Why would anyone that obviously assumes that they are probably more intelligent than the average person use such an assinine expression as "my bad"? How about "I was wrong"? It is a mere 4 letters longer to type but doesn't label you immediately as an idiot follower of dimwit trends. Out of all of the garbage that ebonics has brought main stream America "my bad" could easily be the most ignorant sounding shit ever. Even "I screwed up" sounds better, "my Bad" is more like a statement from someone with an IQ below 50. I bet you wear your hat sideways don't cha?:gang1:

OCA hit the nail on the head. The problem is Liberalism, but I would trace it back further than the 60's. In my opinion Darwin was the catalyst that first started the modern liberal movement. Darwin's theory was the first assault against God and religion in this country, and it opened the door for secularism. From this springs socialism, communism, and pro-homosexuality among many other ideas. All of them, of course, describe modern day liberalism.

So--eventually we all lose our individualty, cultural and genetic differences disappear and we all become _________ ?

People....Jeez, that WAS a toughie!

On the surface, saying that you're proud of an innate characteristic such as race sounds reasonable. Then, when you compare it to being proud of other innate characteristics and you build a list like:

I'm proud that I'm a brunette.
I'm proud that I have an ear on both sides of my head.
I'm proud that I have five fingers on my right hand. I'm even more proud that I have five fingers on my left hand.

It's at this point that "I'm proud that I'm white" gains its proper significance.

So--eventually we all lose our individualty, cultural and genetic differences disappear and we all become _________ ?

Individuality...that can never be lost. cultural difference...eventually that will be diminished from an ethnic standpoint. Genetic differences...if the trend were to continue uninhibited for many generations, race distinctions would certainly become more blurred.

Not saying all of this is good. But it is where we are headed, without a doubt. Ethnic cultural differences will become smaller and be replaced by subcultures. To say we will all be ____________, is false. Culture will be more based around human invention like "goth culture" (strange example) as opposed to "dominican culture".

Obviously you subscribe to a romantic view of pre-Vietnam America. Where children were never mollested, crime did not exist, there were no gays, all parents stay married, every family had a mom in the kitchen washing dishes with a smile on her face, and daughters said in the mustangs up on lovers lane: "oh bobby, I adore you...lets abstain from sexual acts". And the best part was little Joey could go to the pharmacy and get a glass bottle coke for a nickel.

Is that how you want America to be? Because most of what you just read (except for Bobby and the coke) is a product of media generalizations. You could be the poster boy for America's short memory and ignorance of cultural history.

Divorce started occurring in America exponentially in the late 19th century around the decline of the Victorian period. Up until then, it was expected for men to hang around brothels. In fact, a little research into early 20th century divorce cases will reveal that sex at a brothel was not even a reasonalbe grounds for a woman to seek a divorce. Divorce received less attention in the past because it was a taboo subject and women who were divorced were looked down upon.

Sexual 'deviance' is not a concept of the "post hippie" generation either. Alfred Kinsey did his research in the 1930's/40s and found that a large number of Americans were homosexual/bisexual or practiced other unconventional sexual behaviors (i.e. sex with barn animals). This study also revealed that premarital sexual behavior and masturbation was extremely common among teens.

Your argument that the moral degredation of America is a product of the hippies is laughable and much too short sighted.

No, the argument that it can be traced back to the hippie generation is spot on.

Sure many of the things you listed did exist pre hippie generation but then again we weren't afraid back then to judge someone and speak out about their misbehavior and we surely weren't afraid to punish. Nowadays we are much more concerned with criminal rights and queer rights and all this other bullshit because God forbid we hurt someone's feelings with the truth. Pre hippie generation we didn't have school shootings, massive amounts of drugs, people weren't afraid of going anywhere in a city because of rampant crime, we didn't have queer paradesetc. etc. etc..............yes America was a kinder, gentler place back then where you knew your neighbour and communed with them from time to time. Very few of us can name pmore than two of our neighbours nowadays.

I do not assume to be smarter than anyone. A lot of what I post here I have read about or have had to write a paper on. That does not make me smarter than anyone, it just gives me a little more info on the subject to write about. Me and Gunny argue on this board quite a bit. I do not think I am smarter than him, we just have different ideas. I think his ideas are dumb, thoughtless and ignorant, yet some of the smartest people in the world preach them. He thinks the same about my ideas (dumb, thoughtless, ignorant, etc.) but there are brilliant liberals in the world.

I enjoy saying "my bad", "whats up", "dude", "see ya", and other slang. For all you know, I am an idiot follower of dimwit trends with an IQ below 50, but I will say that I wear my Sox hat straight.

School shootings are partly a result of a cold and judging society. Cities in the past did have crime, even rampant crime. I think the difference between today and the past is two fold. First off, there is an increased awareness of danger and problems in society. Secondly, problems that for decades had been isolated in urban areas (theft, violence, racial tension, etc.) eventually worked there way into suburban America as the suburbs evolved.

I don't want to completely disagree with you. I think what is worse today than in the past is a media embrace of things like violence and sexual promiscuity. I would not blame that on hippies though, I would blame it on a shameless quest for ratings.

We have too many damn people. Groups of strangers who are damned and determined not to get to know each other or compromise on anything. Wide gaps bewteen races, incomes, cultures and theologies all being forced together in certain places via technology and resources. People don't play well together, particularly when they are asked to sacrifice for the good of the group.

If you're talking about "legal immigrants", I'm with you. But if you're trying to pass a load of crap off on me calling "illegal aliens" "immigrants", then stop now. The illegals from mexico are nothing more than LAW BREAKERS here in America. They are anything BUT "immigrants". You DON'T come to this country by way of BREAKING THE LAW, and then consider yourself an IMMIGRANT! GET THAT STRAIGHT! And what's more, the tidal wave of mexicans into America is the largest invasion from one country into another in the history of the world. They bring with them their diseases, their crime, their uneducated, and whatever else mexico is glad to see leave. WE DON'T NEED THEM HERE, AND YOU CAN'T TELL ME WE DO.

America HAS immigration laws. Follow them, and you're an immigrant. Hop the fucking border and enter here illegaly, and you're just a goddamn wetback and need your ass kicked back to mexico.

Do I have any friends of other than white ethnicity? The answer is yes, but I see that question as an attempt to call me a "racist", just like my initial article calls it.

What's this "we" stuff? Don't include me in that analysis. I'm not OK with losing my identity. I'm not OK with the melting of my culture. I don't believe in the new world order, or garbage like hitlery clinton's book, "it takes a village". You see you're ideas of, "we'll all be the same in the end", are the problem. Some people don't give a rats ass, some do. I do. But when "I" say that "I" want to preserve my ethnicity and my culture, I'm immediately branded a "racists" simply because I'm white. But you can go lolly gagging about spewing the new world order, and since that's a "progressive idea", that's all supposed to be fine and dandy.

I've nailed you twice now.
