Proposed Oregon bill would ban hunting/fishing

This won't pass ... it's been open for signatures for 18 months now ... they'll eventually get the required signatures to get it on the ballot ...

Vegetarianism enforced by law ... that's the plutonium in Portland's water supply talking ...

Apparently the animal rights folks in Oregon and nearing enough votes to put up an initiative to ban hunting (and maybe beef cattle) on the ballot.

Controversial Oregon petition to ban hunting and fishing gains momentum

SALEM Ore. (KPTV) - Animal rights advocates are close to having enough signatures to qualify a ballot measure in Oregon that would dramatically change how animals are treated under state law, including banning most hunting, fishing, livestock farming and animal research.

The proposed measure Initiative Petition 28, would remove many long-standing exemptions in Oregon’s animal cruelty laws. Under the initiative, most activities that hurt or kill animals would become criminal offenses. Exemptions would remain for self-defense and veterinary care.

The chief petitioner David Michelson told FOX 12 on Thursday, that they have about 105,000 signatures. By law, they need 117,173 verified signatures to qualify for the ballot in November. There’s no indication how many of the signatures gathered so far will be verified.

Michelson compared the initiative to the women’s suffrage movement.

They should outlaw logging as well. Nothing but communism shall remain.

Proposed Oregon bill would ban hunting/fishing

LMAO why not Democrats have banned everything else remotely fun.

Oregon, once the poster child of subsistence hunting and fishing since the mid-1800's was overrun by California whack jobs freaks back in the 1990's. They have been banning shit ever since. Oregon had a very small population. Then 100's of thousands of Californian's poured in and took over. It's been a shit show ever since.

(and maybe beef cattle) on the ballot.
It's already banned. Oregon went after mom and pop farms. Even if you only had 1 cow they forced you to spend $500k installing animal waste treatment systems, effectively banning all farming short of a big corporate.

As for Democrat's respect for democracy and the rule of law, forget about it. California could not ban gold prospecting because federal law prevents them from doing that. So they banned the tools. Yeah, if you want to go gold prospecting you can, but you can only use your bear hands to dig. That's how evil and deranged Democrats are. :cuckoo:

Yall made a big deal about the dog testing.

Animal testing is bullshit.

The models have to be based on something, and confirmed from time to time.

Animal testing can be reduced but not eliminated unless you want to give up the right to sue drug companies when things go wrong.

Lol, continue self destructing out there so we can start fresh. We're at dumbness levels I thought would never be possible. Reaching new levels of ineptitude hourly.

I don't think even liberal Oregon would pass that shit. Getting it on the ballot and actually passing are two separate things. Isnt' that the state where half of them want to leave the state and become part of Idaho or Utah?

You'd rather start out testing people ?
Or no testing at all, just dump it on the market ?
Animals are innocent. Humans are not.

That being said why not use prison lifers? I’m sure they’d love to get out of the slammer for a couple of days to do some beneficial testing.

Another “initiative” that doesn’t have a prayer of passing

Salmon fishing is huge in Oregon
You know that if any man from another county that is red has the right to kill these politicians. They will not. Though they have the right.

Except not all, maybe just under half the population, aren't loony tunes Leftwing-nuts.
They will likely have to smuggle in food or join the exodus of sanity leaving that state.
And those people will know to prepare, or they will simply leave.
