I remember…. Trump said to close the Borders and Pelosi, Schumer, Biden, and the rest of the Democrats fought him on it saying it was racist.

Trump's policies actually made things worse, because he caused a big rush to get back into the US before all the flight shut down, and none of those people were held in isolation. They just went home and infected their communities.

Bullshit. Pretty much every country you laud for their COVID efforts locked their borders and/or put very stringent policies to restrict entrance into their countries.

Only a TDS mindset could blame Trump for COVID and call him racist for wanting to shut the borders as an immediate response to a global pandemic.

Except Trump's lockdowns were accompanied by saying shit like "Kung Flu" and "Gina Virus". And not surprisingly, some of his inbred followers saw that as an invitation to go around beating up Asian people.

The thing was, his lockdown was particularly hamfisted and it didn't work. (Didn't really work for those other countries, either.)

What he did next was the problem, really, denying the problem was as bad as it was, hawking quack cures, elevating quacks like Scott Atlas when Fauci and Brix didn't tell him what he wanted to hear. Holding super spreader events. Encouraging his followers to show up at state capitols with guns.

Not that asking people nicely would have prevented what happened. This was a case of people being pushed too far.

I agree, it didn't. (Although I never heard of anyone who died going to a BLM demonstration, but Herman Cain died from going to a Trump Rally.)

Trump should have been setting an example. Instead he undermined efforts to contain the virus at every turn.
