That's the key to it all. People in Britain and America too are desiring better. It's the reason for Trump's success by promising something different, by hinting at social change. But the desire you mention still remains.

The right's weapon against social change is in spooking the people with the threat of communism and having them believe that 'social' change is the same thing.

They'll buy the spooking tactics still, but not forever.
