Whether you like him or not, President Trump is upholding his oath of office by following federal immigration laws.

One more promise made, promise kept.

Trump expands travel ban to hit 5 countries with sweeping new restrictions, citing security concerns

Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, South Sudan and Syria among nations facing complete entry restrictions

"President Donald Trump on Tuesday expanded a travel ban by adding five more countries and imposing limits on others.

The move came as the Trump administration continues to tighten U.S. entry requirements and immigration standards.

"The restrictions and limitations imposed by the Proclamation are necessary to prevent the entry of foreign nationals about whom the United States lacks sufficient information to assess the risks they pose, garner cooperation from foreign governments, enforce our immigration laws, and advance other important foreign policy, national security, and counterterrorism objectives," the proclamation states.

Through his actions on Tuesday, citizens from five countries – Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, South Sudan and Syria, as well as individuals holding Palestinian-Authority-issued travel documents – will face a ban on travel to the United States, the White House said. In addition, existing partial bans on Laos and Sierra Leone were expanded into full suspensions of entry.

Another 15 countries – Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Cote d’Ivoire, Dominica, Gabon, The Gambia, Malawi, Mauritania, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, Tonga, Zambia and Zimbabwe – will face partial restrictions.

The proclamation also "narrows broad family-based immigrant visa carve-outs that carry demonstrated fraud risks, while preserving case-by-case waivers," the White House said.

In its announcement, the Trump administration said many of the countries on the travel ban suffer from "widespread corruption, fraudulent or unreliable civil documents and criminal records, and nonexistent birth-registration systems," which makes it difficult to perform accurate vetting. Others refuse to share law-enforcement data, while others permit "Citizenship-by-Investment schemes that conceal identity and bypass vetting requirements and travel restrictions."

In June, Trump announced a U.S. entry ban on citizens of 12 countries – Afghanistan, Burma, Chad, the Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen – while also tightening restrictions on others: Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela."

What if the person has $5 million and they are in one of those countries? Will Trump consider someone like that? I'm sure he will. So any terrorist can get 20 guys in that cheap.

If the Trump administration is putting these strict rules on immigration from certain countries, do you not think incoming immigrants will be investigated and vetted?

No amount of money is going to get those people into this country.

I would hope these new strict rules would be on every immigrant regardless of which country they come from. Did you see what happened in Australia? Nuts everywhere.

Strick rules or banning immigrants from those countries? I thought Trump "slammed the door shut on 5 more countries"

I asked if people in those countries with $5 million can get in. I say Trump will let anyone in for $5 million. We know he will let anyone out for $1 million so why not right? Cartel, mafia, $5 million is nothing to them. Get anyone they want in. But this way Trump the mafia don gets his cut.

If they pay the fee there will be no vetting. You know it too.

We can all understand Syria. The others added, are just more predominantly black population countries, or other non-white populations, places he has considered shit hole countries, in the past. He is not standing up for immigration laws, but definitely standing up for every white supremacist group in America. If he were standing up for immigration laws, he would not be arresting people going to immigration court, kidnapping anyone that looks brown, or foreign, including American Citizens, allowing ICE to drag American women from their cars, beat them without asking for ID, and locking them up for 72 hours until bleeding so badly, ICE fears their dying in custody. And, he would be supporting due process of immigration laws and courts. With him more quickly losing the approval of everyone else in the country, he probably will cater to any group of racist asshole that will support him.

This has nothing to do with "black." Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger are deeply embroiled in conflicts with Islamic extremist groups (like those linked to Al-Qaeda and ISIS), while South Sudan faces significant insecurity from various armed groups, including some with religious undertones, though often mixed with ethnic and political grievances, all impacting stability and civilians.

Unless those countries can get their problems under control, we don't want any of them here.

We also stand the risk of terrorist attacks from those other countries that have partial bans, especially since West and East Africa (like Nigeria, Benin, Senegal, The Gambia, Tanzania, Mozambique, etc.) They are facing significant challenges from Islamic terrorist groups (like ISIS and Al-Qaeda affiliates) causing instability. Some others like Angola, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Tonga have seen related threats or instability, though perhaps less directly or intensely than others, but all are on U.S. watchlists for security vetting issues.

I suspect a million dollar immigration card would solve everything, no matter who or where they came from.

They are shitholes, because it's near impossible to vet people from these shitholes. It's not freaking arbitrary, pulling country names out of a hat.

At least for a million dollars, you know who you're letting into the country. That kind of money will buy a lot of information about someone.
