I read some time ago, after or during the pandemic, the Brit's gave serious thought to implementing ID as such to do all monetary and social transactions. It was apparent the system was ready to go.

Read a week or so ago, AI says we need biometric ID on the body to do all transactions.

These systems are ready to implement too.
