Because Senator Joe Manchin gave a thumbs down to President Biden's Build Back Better bill because Senator Manchin correctly thinks that spending now $100 billion in the energy industry to combat climate change will certainly increase the demand for labor and construction products which will increase inflation causing the devastating inflation in our economy to get even worse; now President Joseph Biden is floating calling a national emergency to combat climate change. President Biden thinks he is God's gift to America, he thinks he is like some climate protector super-hero, he thinks he is the Abraham Lincoln to America's Civil War, he thinks he is the Franklin D. Roosevelt to World War II, he thinks he is the Ronald Reagan to America's stagflation and double digit interest rates of the 1970's. Well Mr. President the only thing I have to say to you is consider a statistic from a poll that CNN has been reporting over the past week; which is that only thirty-one percent of the American people think you have your priorities right. This is alarming; your tenure as President has been marked by tone deafness so let me be succinct in telling you what the sixty-nine percent of Americans are driving at here. They think that your agenda of getting America off fossil fuels at the cost of an unhealthy inflation rate is the behavior of a total and complete jackass and want you to reverse course. The principle that you should be following here is a very simple principle that any wise President could see with no doubt which is that in weaning America off fossil fuels you do not do it by cutting supply of fossil fuels you do it by cutting demand; no if, ands or buts. Mr. President you need to start living by that principle!
Mr. President your staff people get in front of the media camera and say look the price of gasoline is down below $4.60 a gallon and it has been trending down for a couple of weeks now there is no supply problem. Are you and your minions such complete idiots that you really think there is no supply problem; if the truce in the Yemen War breaks down and the Houthis bomb a Saudi Arabia oil storage facility or if China stops its stupid shut down policy on Covid and fully reopens and China petroleum use resurges you could see a fifteen dollar spike in the price of oil. End users of petroleum in the U.S. know this that is why lower petroleum prices aren't filtering through the economy and inflation is still alarmingly high.
Mr. President don't declare a national emergency to combat climate change. It is not going to make a meaningful difference for the climate with this Russian invasion war and what it did to the energy markets, you have a lot of countries increasing the use of coal and petroleum to generate electricity. Mr. President you will just be spitting into the wind declaring this. Seriously, if you declare this national emergency and do what a reasonable person would expect you to do under such emergency action you will be creating upward pressure on inflation and thereby you will seal the Democrat Party's fate in the mid-terms losing at least one chamber for your party. In 2023 when at least one chamber of Congress is in the Republicans hands , you ain't getting anything of center or left wing significance through Congress, the Democrat agenda makes the vast majority of Republicans want to puke their guts out, no chance Mr. President, it's a loss carved in stone. Your Presidency, President Biden will have no major economic accomplishments to support your reputation and legacy. Your infrastructure bill is steadily becoming a bill of no historic consequence as inflation is eating into the buying power of the monies appropriated in the bill.
