Earth's SAP is defined to 5 digits and that has not changed for decades if not centuries. The laughable attempt of CO2 FRAUD to escape the "surface air pressure bust of the fraud claim of any "warming" at all" by claiming there is some sort of winter summer oscillation is just as desperate as McBullshit Milankovich's attempt to re-write North American Ice Age.

You skeptics and deniers often say why don't we warmers make predictions that are in the short term so we can be called out for them? Well, I am going to make a few and tie them in with the enso. I am making a assumption that the global temperature will be .05-.1c warmer based on the giss dataset then we were pre-2015-2016 nino. I will put my credibility on the line and I want a mod to pin this at the top of this forum for skeptics/deniers to rip me apart when I get it wrong!

When will I be wrong?
1. IF we see a moderate nina year that turns out to be .56 or .58c...That is wrong. Rip me a part as a idiot!
2. If we see below .64c in a weak nina! Rip me apart as a idiot!

3. On the other hand it is a possibility that we may hit or break last years record in a neutral year so a high side prediction is wrong but it only proves a warming world!

These are the ranges that the means should fall into. All data points GISS(Nasa)!

I will predict that Neutral years will avg near .75c-.80c for 2017-2020 and .77 to .83c for 2021 to 2024. The possibility is there that one could get over .85c during the later part of the period during a neutral year.

Weak ninas(-.5 to -.9c) could see global avg temperatures between .69-.74c. In comparison, 2005's .69 or 2014's global yearly temperature.

Moderate ninas(-1 to -1.4c) will probably see global avg yearly temperatures near .66c +- .3c. Probably warmer then 1998!

Strong Nina's(-1.5c to -2.0) will probably see .58 to .65c depending on how strong. Likelyhood of a .5c yearly global temperature will only occur in a -1.8c or above nina.

IF US, Russia, and China all fired every nuke missile at Antarctica simultaneously, there would be indeed "abrupt climate change" and it would be dramatic. NYC would be underwater in a day or two. Surface Air Pressure would spike higher. Earth would warm.

We are only in a 3 million year long ice age because of that. Pull North and South America apart again, and see the climate suddenly shoot back up to Early Cenozoic temperatures.

I always shake my head at how wrong most sciences are when looking at our planet in the past. Case in point, look at almost any "documentary" about the KT event. You know, where the asteroid slammed into the Yucatan Peninsula and brought about an end to the "Age of the Dinosaurs".

I bet in 98 out of 100, they show a map of the planet as it is today. With North and South America where they sit now. With the Isthmus of Panama connecting the two continents.

Well, any time you see that image, realize that is a lie. Because this is "Earth, circa 65 mya".

Yes, almost every documentary about the end of that era is a lie. Mostly I shrug it off because they are about the end of the dinosaurs and not plate tectonics, but it only feeds into the mistaken beliefs of many that the planet is not dynamic and always changing. What I often call the "Static Earth" fantasies that sit between a great many today and links them to the "Young Earth Creationists". That how the planet is today is how it always has been and always will be. That is why they panic when they realize the planet really is changing and demand we somehow stop it from changing.

What is missing for example is all the subcontinents that used to rest off the west coast of North America. When looking at that map, the West Coast is literally where the Rocky Mountains are today (Idaho was "ocean front property" back then). That is not the "Rocky Mountains" as we know them now, that is an earlier "Proto-Rocky Mountains" that are in the same place. Those eroded away, and were replaced by a younger range that largely spawned in their place in the Laramide Orogeny.

No, there were once multiple sub-continents off the coast, that have since collided with North America. Like "Siletzia", which makes up now coastal Washington and Oregon. There were a slew of such island arcs and subcontinents that collided with North America, and now make up what we call Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, and Arizona. But we only know that such islands and subcontinents existed, not what they actually look like so they are left off of maps like that above.

But above is a representation of what Siletzia might have looked like before it was added to the continent.

Edit: Also left off of the map in the post above is Florida. At that time it was a sub-continent sitting in the Atlantic, between Africa and North America. Just a blob of land not connected to any continent, so ultimately unimportant to the continents themselves.
