4:30 in the pouring rain, because May28th.

I wouldn't want to run into you lookin like that at 4:30 am.
it was dark and raining, very peaceful
How far do you run?
Today was Sprints, not distance.....

10 x 100-Meter Dashes with the break between being the walk back to the line.

Then 6 suicides. The lines being distanced @ a standard college basketball court.

Yes my neighbors probably think Im nuts, lol, I measured this all out using landmarks last year out on my street when I worked from home.

What's the purpose of doing it that way as opposed to distance? I walk 2 miles a day and I feel like I'm doing my lungs a lot of good but the sprints might be for strength as well maybe?

High intensity short burst cardio burns fat at just about twice the rate, time-wise.

Not only does every study show this.....but I've been a witness to it myself.

2 summers ago I was running close to 6miles a day, same diet, but now my rate of weight loss has been way faster/a shorter period of time.

I still do distance 3x a week just because my ocd wants me to know that I can hit pavement and just go.......its a weird accomplished feeling.

But its literally right about halved. 20minutes of high intensity training torches the calories of 40minutes of steady-state cardio.

Its something about the body's fight or flight mechanism being turn onto "maximum" as though your body is tapping into its evolutionary design and thinks its being hunted, or hunting. I've heard a few Doctors speak about it in those terms. The studies are pretty cool to read.....the how/whats and whys.

that is cross fit shit dude.....
Except I dont like to call it that because its a trendy/gimmicky name and I'd like to think that cross fit is a different species altogether. Im doing classical things you'd do to prepare for physical combat - training fast twitch muscles and the difference between that and cross fit is that cross-fit integrates weight-training with the cardio and I keep those seperated so that my weight training doesn't suffer strength wise.

why did you funny the post telling you my dog is on his last leg.....damn gt i have been crying all morning.....i think i will walk about and go 'damn' for a while....

I always looked at fitness as doing or getting into a physical activity that you can carry into your golden years though. Like a sport, tennis, golf, swimming or anything you can do for a long time..

I know a gal who really does crossfit. She is in amazing shape but I see her slowing down at some point and all this work could end up being too much. Maybe it's our age difference and I have different goals because of my mindset. She likes it that I'm consistent and she feels it's enough.

Meh. I'm not sitting on my ass all day so it's enough for me. :)
