I see lots of nice homesteads in rural areas of CA, OR, CO and WA. But **** that, I'd never ever move to those commie states.

I lived on a 16 acre homestead in Northern California for 8 years. The property was beautiful, but the commies were always coming after us for our water and other resources.

The country tried multiple times to pass laws to meter our wells, so they could charge us for taking water out of the ground via wells we paid for and maintained.

Many are "stuck" there and/or trying to repair and turn-around the damage done by the idiot socialists.

I don't know what the voting numbers are, but maybe the non-socialist/non-liberals should've come out and voted for a more moderate or even a conservative person. A lotta people might stuck be there but did they do enough to get rid of the democrats that are ******* up their cities? My guess is, probably not. I find it almost hilarious. City after city, act after act, every time the far Left carries out another one of their "demonstrations" against society and America in general (remember Occupy Wall Street? Chaz/Chop?) we are told to give into the little assholes and time and again, all they leave is a path of destruction behind.

Look at 2020 and the BLM/Floyd riots lasting 5 months long doing billions in damage and leaving about 50 dead. The only people to have actually profited from Floyd and BLM are the heads of BLM themselves (who got filthy rich) and the family of Floyd, who weren't owed a dime.

The result: empty, boarded up cities and lost real estate. Investors and business moving out. The only thing the Left are any good at is creating poverty, creating more poor, attracting the poor, and feeding off the poor creating more of them while they get ever-poorer.

The Democrat Party is the road to a 3rd world country.

WA state has mail-in voting, and motor-voter registration; so issue is how much of that "voting numbers" is legal to vote*. About 33 of the 39 counties are Red and vote conservative, but the urban counties have the slightly larger population, which shows as voting blue.

Even with "easy" voting, too many don't bother thinking it won't matter, make a difference. That's part of the problem. Polls and surveys suggest that conservatives could dominate, but not enough turn-out to mail their ballots, so ....

* WA state dies a poor job of validating the voter roles. It's possible for some to vote twice, such as college students who can register in their home county and also the one where their college is. There also is little effort to find and purge illegal voters.

Uphill struggle, but those of us in the conservative portion are trying our best to get more, real and legal voting for conservative, non-leftist.

Your county had and could show absolutely no expense incurred from it raining to justify a fee in charging you for it.

Everything in your post is factual. However states and municipalities are doing this or attempting it throughout the west. WOTUS, Waters of the US legislation has been being bandied about in the US congress for over a decade while the democrats have pursued their lawfare instead of addressing this very real problem.

IIRC, State of Washington claims IT owns all the rain water that falls in our state.
In classic Leftist hypocrisy(irony ?) it fails to accept consequence of, or pay for damage by that rainwater, such as flooding and river overflow, which we have lots of at the moment, and often this time of year.

BTW, my water district charges money for the water they deliver to offset the costs of the wells and pipelines used to provide it.

Not necessarily.
Leftism isn't a disease one gets involuntarily like a cold or the flu, etc. (There's an element of conscious choice involved.)

There are quite a few of us non-Leftist living here.

Problem is we have ethics that prevent us from the sort of 'lawfare'= abuse, misuse, illegal applications of "laws" the Left engages in and then has their judicial supporters condone. Which is how the Left is fugging up living here for we rational and wealth producing citizens.
